War, devastating war was engulfing the great castle in a cold May night of 1998 and Harry Potter couldn't believe what was happening at the moment. He and his friends, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, were currently rising through the flames spreading through the ROR in some Comet 260's that they found, thankfully, lying around.
Flashback to 6th year
Harry had been observing Draco closely for 2 weeks now; not only did he have a suspicion that the Malfoy boy had become a death-eater but there was something in his beautiful grey eyes that told him that they were more similar than anyone would think.
It was a dark night at the castle and Draco was crying. With the pressure being too much, he had gone in walk to find a secluded spot where he could cry in peace. Without his classmates or Moaning Myrtle asking stupid questions; what he didn't realize at the time, was that someone had seen him get out of the Slytherin Common Room and was now following.
Harry moved slowly from under his invisibility cloak, following Draco, close behind. It sounded as if the blonde was crying, but that didn't make sense, Draco Malfoy would never cry, right? Harry thought that if maybe he could see his face, he could figure out what was going on, but his feet betrayed him and the young Gryffindor boy stumbled when he had started forward to fulfill his plan. He didn't fall down, but he made enough noise for Draco to notice his presence. The next thing he knew, he was being pinned down, with his cloak covering the lower part of his body.
"Why are you following me, Potter?! Why can't you just leave me alone?!" Draco asked with a desperate voice and tears in his eyes. He didn't care if Potter saw him vulnerable, he was far too distracted with his own business to care. As another wave of tears came crashing against his grey eyes, he let go of the grip he had on Harry's shirt and fell onto his knees.
The Gryffindor boy didn't know what to do. He couldn't believe what he was seeing and yet he could understand. He suddenly realized why Draco acted as he did, he was hurting, and so, Harry sat besides Draco and put his arm around his shoulder.
"I'm sorry Malfoy"
No more words were needed, they just sat in the dark until Draco had calmed down and left, after muttering a small "thanks" to his former enemy.
The two boys became much closer after that, they started meeting every week to discuss their problems and eventually, it became normal to laugh together and lay on each other's lap every now and then, when the mental breakdowns were too strong.
But then the war happened, and the last time they saw each other before Harry went hunting for the Horcruxes was in the middle of the forbidden forest the day of Dumbledore's funeral. Harry did not blame Draco for what happened. How could he? After everything they had shared in their midnight conversations?
No, Harry felt bad for Draco and even a little guilty that he couldn't do anything to help in the Astronomy Tower. The last time they saw each other, Harry held Draco as he cried on his shoulder and kissed his forehead when they had to leave. They had become very close friends.
The next time they were in each others presence was Malfoy Mannor, when Draco's heart broke so profoundly at the sight of disheveled state, that he understood that his feelings were greater than those of a friendship, but he couldn't do anything about it at the moment because Harry refused to acknowledge him, too afraid that Bellatrix or Lucius would hurt Draco if they found out that the 2 boys got well together.
Fast forward to the Room of Requirement, the cold night of May the 2nd of 1998. Draco saw Harry get inside by himself and decided to follow him, knowing that Blaise had seen him and cover for him if anyone asked where he had gone.
"Harry!" yelled Draco as he ran to catch up to his crush.
Harry froze in his place, could it be him? The boy had held his heart captive for so long? He turned around and stared at the blonde as he came closer, accelerating with every step.
Draco knew what he had to do; as soon as the distance had minimized between their bodies, he closed the space between their lips and grabbed Harry's hair with his hands, making sure he wouldn't be too far away ever again.
They kissed, hugged and smiled. Their first kiss was full of passion that held all their feelings and the desperation of the time apart. No words needed. They only broke apart when they heard running coming towards them and Draco quickly escaped and went to find Blaise. Hermione and Ron found Harry but missed his blush and smile on his face.

Then the Slytherin's arrived, Blaise and Draco had to act to convince Goyle, but they couldn't do anything when the fire started. So there they were. The Gryffindors rising in their brooms while the Slytherin's desperately climbed stacks of books.
Draco and Blaise were rescued, but as an explosion pushed the brooms outside the ROR, the blonde hit his head and fell unconscious after watching Rowena Ravenclaw's diadem being destroyed.
Harry turned around smiling in victory, until he saw that his boyfriend wasn't returning the smile, for his eyes were closed and his body laid motionless on the floor.
"Draco!" Cried Harry as he threw himself onto the body behind him.
"Please wake up, Draco" The Gryffindor was sobbing, his usually black hair was looking more brunette because of the dirt and soft light from the faraway flames.
"Did I ever tell you, I have a thing for Brunette's?" Draco said softly as he opened his eyes and returned the delightful kiss of his startled boyfriend.
They were finally together and lived happily ever after.
