The nine girls performing Bring The Boys Out were sitting in a circle, all looking at the lyrics.
"Wow, this song has a lot of English." Nervous Chingyi pointed out.
"Good thing we have a lot of English speakers then!" Maknae Younghee exclaimed.
"Should we discuss positions, then?" Second oldest, Bora, suggested.
"Yes!" Miao exclaimed. "Starting with vocalists?"
"I think positions are pretty obvious." Skylar said.
"How so?" Bora asked.
"Well, Diff.rent has a main vocal and two lead vocals that are practically main vocals in this song too." Skylar went on to explain. "So those three should be Joomyun, Bora, and Miao. Leaving Lyla and Chingyi as the other vocalists. And the song has four rappers and the rest of us are rappers so it works out perfectly."
"Technically, I'm not a specific position." Younghee corrected the older female.
Skylar rolled her eyes. "You know what I meant. I think it works out perfectly."
"Skylar does have a point." Danya said.
"Okay, so let's put us into the members then." Bora said.
After much discussion and voting, they finally decided on their positions, all seeming pretty happy about them too. After deciding, they did a quick run through of their lines, singing together to learn their lines. The one thing everybody seemed to struggle with was the many English in the song. Eventually, someone got tired of it.
"Okay, we are clearly struggling with the English parts." Danya said, stopping the music. "Here's what I think we should do. I think we should split up, pairing an English speaker with a non-English speaker and practice the English parts that way."
Everyone looked around, too afraid to say anything.
"Yeah, okay, I think that's a good idea." Bora said. "Who can speak English fluently?"
Five girls raised their hands: Skylar, Lyla, Joomyun, Jane, and Bora herself.
"Great, majority of us." Joomyun said. "That'll make things easier."
"Definitely." Bora nodded. "So then why don't Joonyun and I take Miao. Skylar can take Danya. Jane can take Younghee, and Lyla can take Chingyi. That way we all stick to our positions. Deal?"
Everyone agreed and split up, each pairings taking different parts of the room. They all seemed to do well, learning quickly, except for Chingyi and Lyla. After so many tries, Chingyi started to get frustrated.
"I don't understand why I have such a hard time with this." Chingyi said, laying her head against the wall.
"It's okay." Lyla said. "This is a lot of English to learn for somebody who doesn't know any."
"Do you think I'll get there?" Chingyi asked.
The younger female widened her eyes. She was shocked that the senior trainee was asking her for advice.
"Of course I do unnie." Lyla said. "You know three languages already, I know if you put your mind to it, this will come easier than you think."
Chingyi smiled. "I guess I'm just worried about learning three songs in the next month."
