It was the second week of the final mission. The girls had spent the first week practicing nonstop for the first round, and now it was time to find out their songs for the second round, the Retro or Colorful concept round. Rather than all the trainees starting in the auditorium, instead, each female was given a designated time to 'come into work' and that is when they were given their envelopes, each female being five minutes apart from the person before and after them.
One by one, the females entered their rooms. The first room belonged to the nine-member group performing Diff.rent's A Girl Like Me. The members performing this song ended up being Hwang Younghee, Kang Joomyun, Ahn Hyerin, Kim Jinyo, Min Eunbi, Choi Yuri, Kim Bora, Li Chingyi, and Song Narae. Once they realized this was the final group, everyone grew excited.
"I think this is a really good group for this song!" Younghee exclaimed.
"Agreed!" Narae exclaimed. "It means I can rap!!"
"You don't get to rap in your other song?" Eunbi asked.
"Guys, we're not supposed to talk about it." Jinyo kept the girls in line. Like the mentors asked of them, they are supposed to keep each round a secret for the sake of competition.
"Right, my bad." Narae apologized.
"Well, should we start discussing positions?" Hyerin asked.
Everyone agreed and that's what they did.
"Well, this song has exactly two rappers so that's perfect." Jinyo lead the conversation. "Narae will be the main rapper and Younghee lead, is that fair?"
"That's fair." Younghee said as everyone agreed.
"Great, as for the rest of us, this song has some pretty strong vocals by everybody so I think we could all be any position and show off our strengths." Jinyo went on.
"Well, in Diff.rent, Ryujin is the main vocalist." Hyerin said. "Who should take her spot?"
Nobody spoke up, all of them not wanting to seem mean, until somebody did.
"I think Jinyo unnie should take it." Yuri suddenly said.
Jinyo looked at the female from her previous group, the same female who Jinyo had given the main vocal spot to before. Yuri had a smile on her face, and Jinyo knew she was paying her back.
"Why her and not Bora or Joomyun or yourself who are just as strong?" Eunbi asked out of curiosity.
"I'm not supposed to talk about it but it's because she gave up the main vocal spot in the last round for me." Yuri explained. "And I know Joomyun and Bora are strong vocalists so I can only imagine they got to be main vocals in their songs last time so I feel like Jinyo deserves her shot at main vocal."
Yuri's words touched Jinyo's heart, almost to the point where her eyes started to tear up. It seemed to touch the others too.
"Then I say Jinyo should do it too." Bora said, giving the spot up as well.
Everyone looked at Joomyun, the only other runner for the main vocal spot. She saw everyone's eyes and grew nervous.
"That's fine with me." She muttered through her nerves.
"Great!" Yuri exclaimed. "It's settled then. Jinyo will get the main vocal part and Joomyun and Bora will take Lulu and Aya's parts who are the other strong vocals."
