Divine teleported us to her home in the city of Axelis. This was a city in the game 'Lords of Fantasia' Jonathan was talking about. It was gorgeous. It was like living in a kingdom full of kings and queens. The streets were golden, and the houses were shining. Even the trees seemed to glow.
We arrived at a large building made of pure gold and ruby. It had a symbol of a wolf's head with long fangs on it. "Welp", said Divine, "This is it. Welcome to the Wolfpire Clan. Kamati is the deputy of the clan. You won't see him often. He's usually offline", Divine gave a rueful face as she looked into the entrance.
"Huh? What is it, Divine?" Jon asked.
She looked back at us with the same expression. "It's nothing. Let's go inside", she replies. Then we headed inside. It was large. And there were members everywhere. They were all dressed in grey and red armor and clothes. But Divine had different apparel. She was wearing white and blue. "Hey, I see that you have different clothing from everyone else in the clan. Why is that?", I asked.
"Hm? Oh, I'm not in this clan. I'm in the Knights of the Unholy. I'll take you there sometime. What clan are you guys in?", explained Divine. "Uh, we're not in one. But we'd love to join one. Are there any open spots in the Wolfpire Clan?", asked, Jonathan?
"Unfortunately, no. They only take players with high BP. So does mine. I'm the deputy of the KOTU. But I'm sure there is a lot you can join from here", explained Divine. "Ah, ok. Are clans, like families, or something?", I asked. "No. They can be, but they are usually groups that ban together to raise each other's BP. It's not like you have to join one, it's just recommended."
"I see. Well, we should head out. I'm starving!", moaned Jonathan. He clutched his stomach in hunger. "Can we eat in this game?", he asked desperately. "Of course, idiot! For some reason, this new game Wanderer made can export nutrients to your body when you eat something in the game. This isn't a virtual reality at all. It's a whole nother world!", said Divine.
"Whoa! So, we can like, feel pain and stuff!?", I asked, amazed. "Yup. So could we in LOF", said Divine. So this isn't just a game. It's a whole nother realm beyond the logic of science! Imagine what life could be like without this kind of technology!
"Hey, Jon! Let's go find a clan to join!", I urged.
"Sure, after we eat something--", said Jon.
"Hey! We got newcomers!", roared aloud in a manly voice. We turned around to see a large, muscular man in grey and red armor, and a long red cape. His sword hung at his side. He had brown hair combed back on his head and dark eyes.
"Hey-ho!! Looks like we got another feast comin' up, right!?", he shouted. Then everyone gathered around. "Hiya Princess Divine! How are you doing!?", someone yelled. "Oh, I'm fine! How about you!?", she replied. Wait, "Princess"? What the heck? Is she royal or something?
"Hey, you guys hungry!? We got lots of food around here!", says the large man. "Yeah!! Let's EAT!!" exclaimed Jonathan. Then we all sat down at the guild table and ate. While Jonathan munched on some ham, I slurped up some ramen.
"Hey, Divine! They called you "Princess". What do they mean by that?", I asked.
"Yeah", said Jon, chewing some bread, "I'm pretty curious, too."
"Huh? Oh, it's just a nickname, since I'm married to Kamati. He's supposed to be a prince or something. So they call me 'Princess', y'know?", explained Divine. I see. "So, when's the last time you talked to Kamati?", I asked her. Her expression got gloomy again. "Hey, you okay?", I asked. She looked down and was silent.
"Hey, kid, let's not talk about that...", said the big guy. It was unusual, but I guess I had no choice. After our meal, Jon and I said our goodbyes. We left, talking about clans, and which we should join. There were many super strong ones, but they only accepted high BP ranking players.
"So, what now? Most of the clans only accept high-ranking players. We probably don't stand a chance against them", I said.
"I don't know. I guess we might have to just get stronger. And what was up with Divine earlier? She was acting weird", said Jon.
"Yeah, I agree. Do you think something happened?", I asked.
"Not sure. But I think we should give her time before we just start asking her questions. She'll tell us when she's ready."
"Yeah, I guess you're right..."
"Hey Kuuga?" asked Jonathan.
"Yeah, what's up?"
"Maybe we can make our own clan. You know, for us and our friends."
"YO!! That's perfect!" I shouted.
Then we began running to go level up some more.
