A Spider-Man Story 3

Chapter 6:Neverending Nightmare

Alex wakes up and looks around. He notices the chief, Jose, and Ms. Jackson. They're all looking at him. He says, "What are you guys looking at?" Jose goes up to him and holds his shoulder and says, "You okay? You've been sleeping for a while." Alex nods and says, "Yeah, I just needed some more rest you know? Haven't slept like that in a while because of nightmares, and because we were in prison and it was always loud." Jose chuckles and says, "Man, prison was crazy. Well mainly because I was in there for a year and you were in there for a month." Alex chuckles and says, "Yeah, so what's next?" The chief says, "We were thinking-" All of a sudden the house explodes with a blue light. Everyone coughs. Alex says, "Is everyone okay?" Jose says, "I'm okay over here."

    Then, they hear stomping. Alex stays down but looks who it is. He sees black boots. He could tell they weren't normal feet. They were too big to be human feet. He hears a deep voice say, "You puny humans. You have so much power yet can't use it when it matters the most. I'll make sure this world prospers in my universe. Jose says, "Who are you?" He gets picked up and makes eye contact. The being has purple skin and Jose already knows who it is. He couldn't see the rest of the being's face because it was wearing a mask. Jose says, "You're Thanos." Thanos says, "You're right. I've watched your friend over there for a while now. I believe you're stronger and you should work with me." Jose says, "No, never. I won't ever work for you." Thanos says, "I wasn't asking. But since you don't want to work, I guess you'll have to see these fine people die."

    He throws Jose into a wall and grabs a poker from a fireplace and looks at Ms. Jackson who's crawling towards the chief. He stabs her through her stomach. Alex says, "No!" He tries to get up but Thanos back hands him causing him to fly across the room. Jose says, "No! Wait! Don't kill him. Kill me instead." Thanos turns around to face him and says, "You want to die?" He says, "If it means I can save my best friend then yeah. I'll die for him no matter what." Alex says, "Jose no. You don't have to die-" Thanos interrupts him, "If he wants to die he will." Jose winks at Alex and says, "Yeah, but I won't be the one who dies. You will." Thanos turns around and Jose punches him into the air and jumps after him. Alex says, "Jose!" He jumps into the air and sees Jose and Thanos crash through buildings.

    He swings after them and sees them land in a parking lot. He jumps into the air and lands on a building nearby. He sees Jose punching Thanos' stomach over and over until Thanos grabs his wrist and breaks it. Thanos punches Jose over and over but keeps him standing. He continues doing that until Jose is on his knees. Once he's on a knee Thanos hits him with a knee right on the jaw. Jose looks over at Alex but Alex can't move. Thanos says, "You're too weak to defeat me human. I wish to see you in my universe." Jose says, "You won't win." Thanos says, "I already have." Thanos is about to stomp but Alex wakes up.
    He thinks to himself, "It was a nightmare? But it felt so real." He doesn't realize he's breathing heavily. Jose goes up to him and says, "Are you okay?" He looks at him and says, "Yeah, I'm fine. I just had a bad dream, that's all." Jose says, "Do you want to talk about it?" Alex shakes his head and says, "No, I'm okay." Jose says, "So umm, I wanted to ask you something." Alex says, "What's up?" Jose says, "So, me and the chief had a plan and we wanted to see if you'd be on board." Alex says, "Okay." Jose says, "We wanna go after Ebony Maw." Alex says, "Okay, you wanna kill him don't you?" Jose nods and says, "Yes, we need to get rid of them." Alex says, "Yeah, I agree. But, what happened to Proxima? Are we going to skip her?" Jose shakes her head and says, "I umm kind of already took care of her." Alex says, "You killed her?" Jose nods and says, "Yeah." Alex says, "Are you okay?" Jose nods and says, "Oh yeah I'm fine." Alex says, "Okay, but yeah let's do this together. We can't go running solo anymore." Jose nods and says, "Okay deal." They shake hands.

    Ms.Jackson goes up to them and looks at Alex. She says, "Oh, you're up. How are you feeling?" Alex smiles at her and says, "I'm okay." She says, "Are you well rested now?" He nods and says, "Very well rested." She smiles and says, "That's good. Oh and by the way, here is your new suit." Alex grabs the bag she hands him and looks at it. He says, "Thank you, it looks amazing." She says, "You're welcome. You can try it on if you'd like." He nods and says, "All right." He goes to the bathroom, puts the suit on, and looks at the spider logo. He thinks to himself, "So much death around me. What happens after this? Can I even be Spider-Man anymore? I killed Sophie, I couldn't save Natalie, and I lost Vanessa. I can't think about that right now. I need to stop some aliens from destroying the state I grew up in and from destroying the world. I can't let that happen. I won't let that happen." He comes out of the bathroom and Jose looks at him and says, "How does it feel Spider-Man?" Alex looks all over the suit and says, "It feels... right. Like I'm supposed to wear it." Jose smiles and says, "Good, now let's go kick some alien ass."
