After retrieving her class schedule from Ms. Hwang, Hana glanced at the times and realized she had a two-hour gap before her first class. With few friends and a need for caution, she decided to return to the dorm, finding the boys still fast asleep.
Ni-ki's sudden jump from the couch startled her, prompting her to question his actions as he checked if Sunoo, dozing on the other end, was awake.
"What are you doing?" she asked, but Ni-ki responded only with an excited gasp and gestured for her silence.
Silently, Ni-ki crept into the kitchen, retrieved a jar of strawberry jam from the fridge, and smeared it on all the doorknobs in the room. He then approached Sunoo and Jungwon's beds, placing the jar in their hands while they slept.
Watching Ni-ki's antics brought a sense of nostalgia for the old him, and Hana followed him like an intrigued puppy, curious about his every move.
As Ni-ki rummaged through a drawer in their room, Hana couldn't help but inquire, "Why do you need an air horn?"
Ni-ki smirked mischievously as he held up the air horn. "No," Hana interjected firmly.
"No, what?" Ni-ki teased, squeezing the air horn just as she finished her sentence, unleashing a piercing honk that reverberated painfully in her ears.
"I said stop—" Hana tried again, but Ni-ki blew the horn a second time, and then a third in the hallway, anticipating the chaotic reactions. Soon enough, Jungwon's angry shouts and Sunoo's startled screams echoed from the room.
"What the hell is happening?!" Jungwon bellowed in frustration.
Ni-ki quickly retreated to the living room, pretending to sleep innocently on the couch.
Innocently, Hana asked the bewildered roommates, "Hey guys, what happened?"
Jungwon, clearly furious, turned to Ni-ki accusingly. "Did you do this, Ni-ki?" he demanded.
Ni-ki shook his head with mock innocence. "Why would I pull such a childish prank?" he replied.
"I know it's you. No one else would do this," Jungwon insisted, adamant in his accusation.
"No, it wasn't me. Maybe Sunoo hyung knows something," Ni-ki suggested casually, prompting Sunoo to gasp in surprise.
"Why would I do that? I've got jam all over me too!" Sunoo retorted, his voice tinged with annoyance.
The conversation seemed to reach a standoff as Jungwon stormed off to clean up, leaving Hana to observe Ni-ki's smirk with a mixture of amusement and curiosity.
Sunoo, noticing her lingering gaze on Ni-ki, found himself lost in thought. He couldn't help but wonder about Haru's identity again.
Was he perhaps interested to Ni-ki? Sunoo's mind raced with nonsensical conclusions, briefly entertaining the idea of Haru being gay before dismissing it as illogical.
