Part 34

Dadi asked Manik for who  he wants to choose a groom for.

        Manik : "I don't have to choose for anyone, I just want to know how to make sure if the chosen one is righteous."

        Dadi : "Usually, we try to determine by enquiring people we know who also knows the groom, or we go with someone who we already know is righteous, that's why Cabir's Dadaji put forward the proposal for you. Why do you want to know about it?"

        Manik : "Nandini's uncle is looking for a suitable alliance for her, and I want to ensure that whoever he choses will surely take good care of her."

        Dadi : "Her uncle will take care of that, why are you losing your sleep because of that?"

        Manik : "Mukti was saying that I will have to distance myself from Nandini once she gets married. If I can't be there for her later, then I should at least make sure that whoever she marries will be there for her always."

        Dadi : "Why are you so concerned for her when you try to stay away from other girls? What's so special about her?"

        Manik : "Nandini is not like other girls Dadi, she is very different. I admire her. After meeting and knowing her, I realized my mistake. I let just one bad experience change my life, though I didn't lose anything because of that. I had you all with me and our company also recovered from the losses. Nandini can't get back her parents who she has lost, she has to stay away from her uncle and aunt who she loves, the course of her life has changed and it is going to change further, but she didn't let that change her attitude towards life, she still cares for everyone. She has been upset for a while now, and I can't see her like that. I have no idea as to what I can do to make things better for her. I can only wish that her future is filled with happiness and she gets someone who doesn't leave her side. Now, in spite of being around her family, she is alone.."

        Dadi remembered Manik talking about her family earlier too when Nandini had visited their house.

        Dadi : "Do you know her family?"

        Manik : "I know, but I can't tell her."

        Dadi : "How do you know them?"

        Manik hadn't told anyone though he knew because of Cabir's family's decision. He didn't know whether he should reveal it to Dadi now.

        Dadi : "You can't tell her, but you can tell about them to me right? I rarely meet her, so I am not going to reveal it to her."

        Manik : "Dadi you should keep it to yourself. Cabir's family is her family."

        Dadi was suprised to hear that and their conversation continued. After hearing more about Nandini from Manik, Dadi felt that Manik loves Nandini but he hasn't realized it yet. He thought that he was concerned for Nandini as a friend, and his opinion against love and marriage stopped him from thinking beyond that.

        Dadi : "I strongly feel that you yourself have a solution to everyone's issue."

        Manik : "What is it Dadi?"

        Dadi : "I am not going to tell you what it is. I want you to arrive at that solution on your own. All I will say is listen to your heart and that will lead you to it."

        After a few days, Cabir's Dadaji decided to check as to what Manik had said after meeting Veebha. He didn't want to repeat the mistake he did last time. Dadaji had checked with Veebha even before he put forward the alliance to Manik's family, so he didn't check with her again. When Dadaji called Raj, Raj told that Manik hadn't said anything yet, so Dadaji came to their house to talk to Manik directly.
