Part 26

Mukti was helping Veebha, but Veebha wasn't successful in gaining Manik's attention that Nandini had gained though she was around Manik and Nandini wasn't. So the girls decided to take a different approach by involving their parents when they got a chance.

        Veebha's mom was worried that Veebha might follow the footsteps of her sister after she came to know that Alya had eloped with Dhruv, so she wanted to get her married soon.

When Veebha's mom told her that she will start looking for alliances for her,

        Veebha : "If you want to marry me off, why look for new alliances? Weren't you saying that Manik is an eligible bachelor and Alya was making a mistake by choosing someone else over him, so why not consider him for me? His sister is my close friend and I will also get to stay close to you."

        Veebha's mom felt that Veebha was right, so she spoke to Dadaji and Cabir knowing that they would support it.

        Cabir : "I have convinced him a few times earlier though he wasn't willing to, and none of them turned in his favor, so I don't want to repeat the same mistake again. If something goes wrong again for whatever reason, I won't be able to show him my face ever again. I don't want to lose his friendship, so please keep me out of it."

        Dadaji felt that they could go ahead with the alliance. He felt that that way he could rectify what had gone wrong the previous time. Before that, he made sure that Veebha was ready for that alliance unlike the last time and then he talked to Manik's dad about the same.

        Manik's parents were discussing about it, and Mukti was around.

        Raj : "I didn't know what to respond to him immediately, so I told him that I will discuss it with my family and inform him. I doubt Manik will be ready for it especially after what happened last time."

        Nyonika : "What you are saying is right. We should wait for sometime before bringing the topic of marriage with Manik again. May be we can convey the same that he may not be ready for it now. .. Moreover, if we manage to convince Manik and the same thing repeats, then he may never be ready to even talk about marriage. They can go ahead and look for some other alliance for Veebha."

        Mukti : "Veebha is my close friend and I know her well. She isn't involved in any affair like Alya, so what happened earlier won't repeat for sure. What would be better than having my friend as my sister-in-law? She is Bhai's friend's cousin too. Isn't it better to select a girl who we all know than go with someone new? Bhai also might agree for the same reason he agreed last time, otherwise who knows he may never agree to marry anyone."

        Manik's parents made up their mind to talk to Manik and Nyonika brought up the matter with him.

        Manik : "Mom, I don't want to get married, so give them some reason and deny it."

        Nyonika : "We can understand how you feel, but Dadaji has helped us a lot in our time of need, so it is difficult to deny him."

        Manik had agreed due to the same reason last time. He was just engaged and that itself had made him feel suffocated. So he felt that getting married would be like committing suicide and he wouldn't want to live the rest of his life like that.

        Manik : "Isn't there any other way that we can return their favor. Is my marriage the only option?"

        Nyonika : "Cabir's Dadaji isn't asking us to return the favor, but we are obligated to. He likes you and so he want you to be a part of his family. You don't have to say anything right now. Think over it and let us know."
