(A year and a half later)
it's been a year and a half since you were brought into the avengers little mixed-up family, everything has been amazing except for the constant panic attacks caused by your PTSD from your last hydra visit that no one knows about but besides that, all has been fine and you're currently getting ready for this meeting fury called all of you in for
"Ashton!! you ready!?" you sighed for the one-hundredth time this morning
"yEs!" you yelled out before racing down the stairs instead of the lift just to annoy them, more specifically...him
"seriously? you know you could've taken the lift right?" bucky asked with a defeated look on his face
"yup" that got him to pinch the bridge of his nose and you snickered, high fiving nat
"come on kids lets go! its time!" tony called out looking even more defeated
"we're not kids!" you and bucky yelled at the same time, they just rolled their eyes at the both of you
"well them you (pointing at bucky) stop falling for his plans" he said as he walked up to the quinjet to get to the helicarrier
bucky literally huffed. glared at you. and walked away
you chuckled, he'll never change
"hey when did Loki say he's coming back?" steve asked as you took a seat next to him "in about a week or so" you hummed
"Why did he leave anyway? even point break won't tell me" tony asked making everyone shake their heads "he has a name you know?"
"I know frosty" he smirked, you pouted "daaaaad"
"Alright alright" he chuckled and looked at you expectedly
you shook your head "he didn't really say anything, only said that Odin needed to speak with him about some issue" you explained and zoned out
they all looked at each other, having a silent conversation after seeing you zone out that quick
"kid?" you hummed not really paying attention
"ash" bruce called out to you this time but a little louder "yeah?" now they had your full attention, but they could see something bothering you
"you good?" sam asked this time
"yeah..yeah I'm fine it's just...he had this look in his eyes" you shook your head slightly "they looked so dull and...lifeless?" your voice turned gradually soft till a whisper
"he'll be fine ash, don't worry" steve said giving you a side hug, you sighed and leaned into him "thanks uncle steve" he smiled at that, giving you a pat he started an argument with bucky..
'again'
"oldies" tony mumbled rolling his eyes, you snorted hearing it
your thoughts drifting off once again to Loki. concern swirling in your golden blue orbs remembering how gradually his already dull green eyes lost their shimmer of light, he became less mischievous as time flew and you could never figure out why
you were determined to find out why the person you love, the person that has your heart and soul was slowly drifting away into an unknown world

upon reaching, Friday gently landed the quinjet and opened the door "listen, Bambi, no matter what happens or what he says or decides, you'll forever be pepper and my son alright? we're here for you kiddo"
"Thanks dad, I know" you said and whispered the last part making him smile affectionately at you, he ruffled your hair making you twist your face in annoyance having to do it again
you guys walked all the way to the meeting room fury was in, as always, he had the 'i don't give a fuck' face, and you surely don't know how he can glare with one eye
"glad you can join us in time for once stark" Tony rolled his eyes at his comment "of course pirate, but don't think it's for you" smirking tony took a seat next to you
now it was fury's turn to roll his eyes "let's just get this started" he sighed getting on with why you guys were called

it took him an hour and a fucking half to end his speech, all you tried to do was stay awake, it was a debriefing from your last missions which you were starting to hate
"now! for the main part I want to talk about." he stated and stared right into your soul making you gulp, making sure you had a strong facade
"over the time and missions, you certainly have proved that you are a trustworthy soldier, all of your reports are only amazing Ashton" he sighed, everyone continued to look at him hopefully
"soooo?" his hard facade turned a tiny bit soft at your question "I am proud to say that you are going to be part of the Avengers initiative" you looked at him gapping before turning to tony "im an Avenger!" eyes showing just how proud he is, he pulled you into a hug, squeezing the life out of you in the process
"congratulations Ashton stark, and I apologize for our rough begining" he nodded at you causing you to nod back at him "apology accepted...pirate sir" he glared at you but not in a bad way "that's my son!" tony said enthusiastically causing everyone to roll their eyes especially fury
he grumbled but you knew, he didn't take offence to the nickname which was from now on gonna be permanent
"Alright that's all for today, I'll send the papers to the tower" fury said as he made his way out, leaving you guys to celebrate
"knew you'd make it" nat said with a pat on the back and her signature smirk
"got another guy in the team!" clint yelled out causing you to laugh at him along with the others "honestly there are enough guys on this team already" wanda whined "but your an exception" she sent a wink at you causing you to chuckle "thanks wanda"
"now! with all this out of the way, let's head back to the tower to celebrate our new team member" everyone cheered at tony's remark and walked out the meeting room
"hey" bucky called out as he matched your pace to walk beside you "hey"
"look don't think about anything too much, I know that face doll, he's gonna be fine when he's back. alright?" you could clearly see the concern in his eyes, you didn't really say much besides nodding your head
"I know, I'm fine by the way. just miss him" you sighed
"I know you do but I reeaally don't" with what he said he ran off knowing what you'll do to him, you both are known to prank bucky the most and without your prank partner you don't really have the mood to do any to him at the moment which was a relief on his side
everyone saw the look cross your face, silently laughing as bucky took off in a sprint
"..............."
"....BUCKY FUCKING BARNES GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE!!"
