the team is far beyond confused with what's happening the past few days, they were close to losing the ability to be surprised by anything
"That wasn't normal" clint snorted at bruce's statement "well nothing has been normal if you haven't noticed" everyone opted to ignore him, focusing on the task at hand
"Friday? how are they both doing?" worry and confusion still swirling in the geniuses brown orbs
"They are both asleep and well sir" of course Friday's answer eased their worry but it certainly did not solve their confusion
"of all my counseling years he really did show signs of fear, or maybe even close to PTSD"
everyone was clearly startled by the news "Loki? PTSD? I doubt it" again they ignored clint while bucky opted to smack him upside the head to which he really did not appreciate
it was silent, every one of them having thoughts in their mind while thor had the same but worse, he hasn't seen his brother in a year and only did when he was trying to take over new york so he is just as confused as they are
"thor" everyone turned to look at nat when she called out to him, turning his blank attention to her he sat up straighter "yes, ms Romanoff?"
"where was Loki before he came to new york?" his face turned from blank to grim "Loki.." he trailed off and everyone looked at him expectedly
"Loki was supposed to be....dead, so I was pleasantly surprised to see him alive" he wasn't completely done explaining when steve interrupted him
"what do you mean...dead, what happened?" a look of pain certainly did flash across the god's face as he continued his explanation
"there was a misunderstanding, I came to a cruel realization that father..." he gulped "that our father never really appreciated Loki for who he was. and I came to know of the truth not long ago"
he pause and everyone thankfully never interrupted him and let him take his time "he was never an Æsir, although by heart I know he is along with his magic, Loki is a frost giant and...he discovered the truth in a....harder way
we were fighting on the Bifrost bridge when...at one point we were both dangling off of it and he.."
he couldn't finish it, the memory still fresh in his mind but tony caught on quickly
"he let go.." although it was a whisper, they heard it loud and clear with how quiet the room got
"But...why?" bucky asked the most wanted to be asked question that has been itching at all their minds, thor just shook his head "I never knew..."
tony sighed, in question, everyone looked at him "if we're ever gonna get answers, it's gonna be from him, so for now let's just take a break"
"tony's right, get some rest team. we'll talk about this tomorrow" steve announced and left along with everyone else, not arguing with his decision as they walked out to their own rooms

Loki woke up to being tangled in bed with you, he smiled slightly at the way you were sleeping, head nicely snuggled into the crook of his neck as he unconsciously held you tighter. remembering the little talk he had before he started to panic
he silently cursed himself for slipping up, he never intended for any of this to happen, simply wanting to bury it along with him and die off with no one knowing about what happened
no one needs to know, they can't change the past of what has happened anyway so why waste precious energy explaining it to them?
but now that it's happened he can do nothing else but wait for what's about to come
questions beyond questions just to label him a liar when they don't believe the things he says
at one point in his life, he wouldn't have admitted it but...
he's scared of their reaction, something he never thought he'd feel

you woke up to feel a pair of arms wrapped protectively around your waist along with a chilling hot breath fanning against the back of your neck, you shuddered at the feeling before gently moving around so that you can lie down facing him
thoughts flooded your mind as you traced a finger on his perfectly beautiful and handsome face, how could someone be so ethereal to look at that at one glance you'd fall beyond reach
so lost in thoughts you haven't even realized that he has woken up with how delicately your finger traced every inch of his face, he gently grabbed your hand, kissing it softly to bring you out of your thoughts
"good morning dear" oh how addicting is his morning voice, melting you like honey "good morning my mate" he flashed you that smile that you love so much
"How did you sleep?" Loki could clearly see the worry on your face, along with feeling it as it spread along his chest like a wildfire
"I slept well my love, did you?" it was your turn to smile at his affection
"I slept good, had a wonderful dream as well" Loki's face clearly held amusement at what you said, "is that so dear?" his question came out more like a purr as you locked eyes with him
you hummed in return "Loki" he knew from your tone that what you wished to ask was something serious, he could only hope that it wasn't about yesterday
"I want you to mark me" his eyes widened in surprise, not exactly what he thought you'd ask "why the sudden eagerness my love?" he didn't sound like he didn't want to, just plain curiosity
you gazed into his eyes a little longer as he waited for your response "I wanna feel you" now his eyes widened with something you can't quite put your finger on, but you can tell he was tense
"that is not needed my mate, this is fine as it is" but you pleaded with him with your eyes, hoping he'd give in. he just smiled in return as he leaned down to capture your lips in a blissful kiss, but it ended so quickly that it left you yearning for more
"I'll bring us our breakfast" and with that, he vanished in a blur of green, you really wished he'd let you in, you wanted to desperately know when he is in distress and not knowing whether or not he is happy or in pain is getting you agitated by the second, including your wolf
