Lucas locked the door of the classroom as Luna placed eleven down onto one of the small desks.
Mike took eleven's hands. "Just hold on a little longer, he's gone. Bad man is gone, you'll be home soon" Mike started promising what life would be like after they got out.
This brought Luna to tears. Not because it was a sweet moment but it had finally hit her that she might not survive this, that none of these kids would. They didn't deserve this, she didn't want to break her promise to Jonathan.
"Hey it's alright," Dustin said looking up at his babysitter. This made her want to cry more. She had always had such control over her emotions, yet when she is needed the most she needs to be comforted by some 12-year-old.
Almost instantly contradicting Dustin's previous words, there was a smashing on the door and the Demogorgon burst in.
Lucas had grabbed his wrist rocket, and as the boys yelled at him to shoot it, Luna grabbed a display from one of the lab tables. She wasn't sure what it was, properly DNA or something, but it seemed enough like a weapon.
Positioning herself in front of the kids she was ready to fight for as long as she needed for them to escape. Suddenly the monster flew to the back of the room.
Each of them turned to see eleven, obviously using her powers against the Demogorgon. As eleven stepped forward, pushing back the rest of the party, all Luna could do was cry.
She knew what the girl was about to do. This young girl who had suffered so much already was going to sacrifice herself for people she had only known for a few days. Luna couldn't help but think about the promises Mike had made to eleven, wishing his words were true and that she could live with this girl she promised to be sisters with.
Turning around eleven gave one last goodbye, before using what was left of her powers. Taking away the Demogorgon and herself.

Luna laid her head on Jame's shoulder as she waited in the waiting room for Will.
She had told James what had happened with eleven, and though he tried to comfort her, he knew right now she just needed to know Will was ok.
As Luna looked around the room, inspecting each person. It was weird to see all these different people. She was used to Jonathan, even Dustin slightly, but it still felt weird to say she was partners with the chief of police or even close friends with Nancy Wheeler.
She raised an eyebrow when her eyes came in contact with Steve Harrington. He just kind of shrugged his shoulders at her, obviously just as confused as she was that he was there.
Jonathan made his way into the room looking at Mike. "He's ready" Mike and the other two, now awake boys raced into the room. Luna slowly got up, linking arms with Jonathan as the two slowly followed behind him.
"Hey hey be careful with him" Will looked up and smiled at Luna.
She gave him a slight wave, then jerked her head towards the 3 boys who were obviously ready to tell him everything that happened.
The second Will's attention was on them they started rambling to Will. Even though it wasn't much, that small smile brought so much relief to Luna, it was good to know the Kids were finally safe.

A month later Luna lay on the couch in the wheeler's basement. She was almost asleep when she was jolted up by all the boys at the table yelling
She adjusted herself as Mike went through the final ending for their party. "Are you guys finally done" Lucas rolled his eyes
"You know this takes time, you didn't have to watch"
"I know," she said pinching Lucas' cheek which he protested to. "But I like to see you have fun. Plus you're more interesting than the people upstairs."
"Seriously, talking behind my back" Jonathan exclaimed jokingly as he walked down the stairs. He stopped next to Luna and his face scrunched. "Ew, what's that smell, have you been playing games all day or just farting" The boys laughed.
"No, it's just Dustin" Lucas stated, going on to sing the creative song of "Dustin farted"
"Will we should go" Jonathan stated "Bye Will" the boys yelled.
"Dustin if you want a ride home we should leave now. Hopper's coming over for dinner and James needs the whole house to be spotless" Dustin gave Lucas one last punch then sprinted up the stairs, Luna slowly followed him.
As she reached the top Dustin was already speaking to Mrs Wheeler's Christmas plans. She saw that Nancy and Jonathan were talking. Knowing they would want privacy, she let Dustin stall with Mrs Wheeler for a little while longer.
Just before leaving Jonathan gave Luna a small wave goodbye which she returned. "And Luna honey, tell your brother I wish him a Merry Christmas" "Will do," Luna said giving a small smile.
As Dustin sprinted out the door, Luna turned to where Nancy and Steve sat. "Goodbye," she stated nodding her head.
"Yeah see you around," Steve replied, a goofy smile on his face. "I was talking to Nancy" Luna stated, not trying to be mean, but just trying to confirm the fact.
Nancy laughed at Steve's, somewhat genuine, offended face. "Goodbye Luna, I'll see you on Monday".
The two girls had grown even closer now that they could know each other outside of their lives being in danger. Nancy still couldn't stop the butterflies that came from being around her new "friend".
Luna had grown closer to everyone in that room. It was like the knowledge they all knew linked them together, creating a bond between them all.
As Luna followed a yelling Dustin to her car, she felt like things were starting to get better.
