Chapter 5: THE GREAT SMOKE
"So, what's your family actually like back home?" Alaska asked me as she drew circles in the sand. "My family...well they are pretty normal by most people's standards, my dad went here, was a prankster like us, even buried the school bell once. You've met him, remeber?" I asked-answered. "Oh yeah i remeber now," she said smiling and still looking at the sand. "My mom's always regretful for sending her only kid off the Alabama to go to school. My dad is there to comfort her," I answered. "Oh I see, so the normal Jeproady watching American family," Alaska joked. "Basically," I replied only half joking. "God I hate small talk," Alaska said as she layed herself back on the ground and dragged me down with her. "I swear, you're gunna get smacked if you say anything abou clouds," Alaska said matter-of-factly. "I won't I promise," I assured her. "well..that one actually looks like a dick but thats enough of cloud talk." She laughed. "You've got a pretty good singing voice," I told her,"You should sing for me more often." She blushed and hit my scrawny chest playfully. "Shut up I'm horrible." "No you're really good I promise!" I attempted to convince her like this for 20 more minutes yet to little avail.
"Shall we head back? It's almost dinner," I asked hungrily. "You're always hungry, lets go get some pizza or something," She said laughing at me. "No clue how you stay so skinny," She said patting her non-existant belly. I just rolled my eyes, "Let's just eat." "You could eat me," Alaska said flirtingly. I blushed hard and she said, "Just kidding, maybe later if you're lucky." I kissed her for a small instant and laughed. We got up and walked to her car holding hands and messing with eachother. I think she forgot we were holding hands becasuse she tripped me but she fell too, but she landed ontop of me.
When we got in the car, which was not her's but was Takumis', we drove to the diner and ate small meals, consisting of fries, a burger and a soda each. Pretty uneventfull actual, besides a few flirty remarks from Alaska, but that's normal. We got a box for the food we didn't eat and took it home.
"Hey what's bugging you?" Alaska asked knocking me out of my daydreaming state. "Nothing I was just daydreaming," I said. "About?" Alaska asked. "It's nothing," I said and added a yawn," When we get home im gunna just pass out." She laughed, "May I join you?" "Ill be in your bed," I replied.
