In between our next prank they had to do an assignment for English. We would normally ditch it but hey the one day you have to go we get tasked with writing a song to sing for the class the next week.  I had written a song about Alaska he was to perform with The Colonel.
"Hey Alaska," I said walking into the dorm room with the colonel.
"Hey babe, Hey Colonel," Alaska said standing up to kiss me. I kissed her softly and sweetly as usual. "Get a room will ya?" Colonel said scoffing. We just rolled our eyes in unison and I replied, "We are in a room."
He shook his head and sighed,"Pudge let's just get this over with."
"Alaska sit down and enjoy the show." She giggled and sat on the COFFEE TABLE, "Show?" "Yes a show," I said and stood next to Colonel. "Alaska, we today present to you, the sadder but wiser girl for me" I said smiling.
"No wide-eyed, eager,
Wholesome innocent Sunday school teacher for me.
That kinda girl spins webs no spider ever--
Listen, boy--" I sung as I extended my hand to the colonel.
"A girl who trades on all that purity," he said taking my hand.
"Merely wants to trade my independence for her security," I sad doing a short tango with him.
"Hold on! I'm gonna grab something!" He said before running off "stage" and grabbing a toupee. I just shook my head.
"The only affirmative she will file
Refers to marching down the aisle," I sung twirling him around my on my finger.
"No golden, glorious, gleaming pristine goddess--" he sung to me as I dipped him.
"No sir!" I said out to Alaska.
"For no Diana do I play faun.
I can tell you that right now," he said taking the lead part in the dance.
"I snarl, I hiss: How can ignorance be compared to bliss?" I said with a quick hiss at the Colonel.
"I spark, I fizz for the lady who knows what time it is," he said with a quick set of jazz hands.
"I cheer, I rave for the virtue I'm too late to save
But The sadder-but-wiser girl for me," I said smiling at him as we extended arms but interlocked hands and did a circle by shuffling around the room.
"No bright-eyed, blushing, breathless baby-doll baby
Not for me!" He said dipping me.
"That kinda child ties knots no sailor ever knew.
I prefer to take a chance on a more adult romance," I said giving his chest a squeeze.
"No dewy young miss
Who keeps resisting all the time she keeps insisting!" He said pulling me into his chest then pushing me out.
"No wide-eyed, wholesome innocent female.
No sir!" I said making my face to match the words
"Why, she's the fisherman, I'm the fish you see?--PLOP!" I continued with a small leap into his arms.
"I flinch, I shy, when the lass with the delicate air goes by," he said with a jerk away from me.
"I smile, I grin, when the gal with a touch of sin walks in," he said and used his fingers as horns on his head.
"I hope, and I pray, for a Hester to win just one more 'A'" I said knowing Alaska would get the reference to The Scarlet Letter.
"The sadder-but-wiser girl's the girl for me.
The sadder-but-wiser girl for me!" We sang in unisons.
Alaska clapped furiously and was nearly crying she was laughing so hard. "Well that surely was something!" Me and The Colonel blushed deeply and then turned around hearing someone else laughing. We were so involved in the song that we didn't hear all the others come in. They all started clapping and laughing at us.
This is gonna be a long day.
