By the time they headed back, Spark was laying down in the clearing. Regaining her strength from the sunlight that now hovered over. Snaggletooth was grooming his ruffled fur flat. And Drizzle was setting out some wet herbs to dry from last night's rainstorm. It had made the landscape mushy and wet. Fay hated the feeling, it made her feel nasty.

"Snaggletooth, buddy!" Camilo greeted his friend, bumping heads with the large Pokemon.  Snaggletooth's belly rumbled loudly, Snaggletooth shifted his paws awkwardly. "Don't worry," Camilo assured, rubbing his cheek against the beast. "Fay got you a Pikachu." The Umbreon glanced at Fay. She padded over to them, dropping the Pikachu at Snaggletooth's paws.

Snaggletooth gave her a grateful nod, while Fay turned away from the duo. Searching for her own friend, Spark. She made her way towards the Leafeon, laying next to her and resting her head on her shoulder.

"Hey." Spark squinted, shifting under Fay's weight. "How are you?" The Leafeon added, her eyes watching Fay with interest. "I'm..I'm good I guess."

A glitter of mischief sparked in Spark's eyes, she grinned in a toothy smile. "So~ What about Camilo, eh? Anything happened that you'd like to tell me?~"

Fay felt her fur grow hot. She widened her eyes and her cheeks became a rosy red, "W-wha? I don't know what you're talking about." She muttered quietly in her ears. She glanced back at Snaggletooth and Camilo who were still chattering away.

"You sureeeee-"

"Spark, be quiet!" Fay hissed.

"What happened?"

Spark and Fay turned their heads around, Camilo had stopped licking his paw and shifted his gaze onto the two. While Snaggletooth rose a brow, confused.

"Fay's-"

"It's nothing! We just were talking about ᵗʰᵉ ᵖᵃᵗʳᵒˡ ᵃⁿᵈ ʰᵒʷ ⁱ ᶜᵃᵘᵍʰᵗ ᵃ ᵖⁱᵏᵃᶜʰᵘ ᵃⁿᵈ ʸᵉᵃʰ"

Embarrassment flooded through Fay as Camilo gave a amused grunt, "If you say so," he mrrowed sarcastically, rolling his eyes. Fay couldn't tell if he believed her obvious lie or was just teasing her.

Fay glanced at her paws shyly, lifting herself off of Spark. The Leafeon quickly sat up, shaking her fur. "You should tell him." She whispered.

Fay gave her a stern glare, but softened her gaze. Spark was right, chasing after Camilo and giving him mixed signals was not going to work. It would just be a hopeless romance.

"Wellll, while you get that figured out. I promised Drizzle to watch over his water garden, he grows a lot of mints there." Spark shuffled and padded away towards the Tree Den.

Leaving Fay to stand helplessly in the clearing.

I'll tell him tonight instead. . . .

. . .

The cold whispers of the night breeze sent a shiver through her spine. At this time, everyone would be sleeping.  All besides the Umbreon, Camilo.

Fay got up from her nest, stretching. A yawn escaped her throat, turning into a icy cloud of smoke. Winter was on it's way. She walked out of the Bramble den, spotting Camilo looking up at the sky, in the middle of camp. He was surprisingly quiet.

Fay took a moment to admire him. His blue rings glowing under the Moonlight. It made her stomach tingle with affection. She had to force her feelers back from grabbing him and squeezing him tight.

Camilo flicked an ear.

She sighed quietly

She sat beside him, glancing at him shyly.

"uh..hey, Camilo." Fay muttered.

"Hey Fay." Grinned  Camilo, looking smugger than ever. Fay blushed, putting her feelers under her eyes, trying to cover it up awkwardly.

The two shared a long moment of silence, glancing up at the stars above.

"Er, Camilo." Fay began, glancing down at Camilo, who was washing his ears gracefully. His crystal blue eyes shifted to her sky-blue ones. Fay couldn't help but to once again admire his figure, he was handsome.

"I..I just wanted to ask you..."

"Ithinkiminlovewithyou,andiwaswonderingifwecouldbecomemates!" Fay blurted suddenly.

Camilo blinked at her a few times, his eyes careful not to betray his thoughts. "I mean, sure. I guess I love you too." The Umbreon inched his face closer to Fay's, sly.  Fay felt as if she was dreaming, Camilo loved her too! And now they were..mates!
