That One Chameleon (Camilo x reader)

Ch. 9

           "Miraboo, (y/n)!" Mirabel's dad said as he knocked on the door to Mirabel's room, "you guys have your party pants on cos' I-" Mirabel's dad cut himself off with a face of terror and shock. Like he had just seen a murder. You and Mirabel tried to cover the vision, but you both knew it was too late. "We..." Mirabel started, "broke into Bruno's tower, we found his last vision, the family's in trouble, the magic is dying, the house is breaking, Luisa's gift is fading, and we think it's all because of..." Mirabel paused for a second, "Us...?" she finished. The shock in Agustine's face didn't go away, he pushed us to the side so he could see the vision, then you all heard the doorbell ring, the Guzmans were here. "We say nothing," Augustine started, "Alma wants tonight to be perfect," he continued as he frantically picked up the shards of green and shoved them into his pockets, "until the Guzmans leave, you both did not break into Bruno's tower, the magic is not dying, the house is not breaking," Agustine brought us over to the door of the nursery, "Luisa's gifts is not fading. No one will know. Just act normal, no one has to know." he finished as the door creaked open and you all heard a high pitched squeak, you all slowly looked out the door, and saw Dolores. "I know," she said before she squeaked and walked off. Well, more like speed walked. "She's gonna tell everyone," you said, scared of what the family would think of you. "Mircoles," Agustine cursed.

At dinner, Mirabel looked at Dolores with an intense stare while you avoided eye contact at all times and just ate your food. Soon you looked up and Dolores was whispering in Camilo's ear. He soon coughed and shifted into you, Mirabel, Bruno, and then back to normal. Well, almost normal. His eyes were on opposite sides and his mouth was open, you couldn't help but snicker. "Camilo, fix your face," Felix whispered to Camilo. Camilo then shook his face back to normal and gave you and Mirabel a look of worry. Once you noticed his staring you quickly stopped snickering and looked down at your lap as you fiddled with your fingers. The dinner only went downhill from there. Camilo told Felix and he spits his water all over the place, Felix told Pepa and formed a cloud, Pepa told Julieta and we just got a shocked look from her. Mirabel just looked down when she saw her mom's face, you looked down too. Then you saw them, cracks were forming on the floor, Mirabel quickly put her head under the table to study them. "Mirabel, (y/n)" Mariano asked curiously about what you both were doing, "everything okay?" he asked, Mirabel couldn't get any words out and you just nodded with a nervous smile. "They're just excited," Augustine said, "for you to propose!" he said with a nervous smile, "Which you should do," he said, Mirabel agreed. "As fast as possible." Augustine finished. "I was actually gonna-" Mariano started but was interrupted by Mirabel, "you were actually gonna! Great!" she nervously exclaimed as she turned Isabela's chair to face Mariano, "I was going to perform a song though," Mariano said hoping she would stop and let him do his thing, "Luisa, could you bring the piano over?" Mariano's mom asked, "okay," Luisa said with a wobbly voice. You knew you had to do something, "It's actually tradition to do that after the proposal!" you said getting Mariano on one knee in front of Isabela. Mirabel spotted some cracks and quickly jumped onto them, "you doing great," she excused as she lay on her side. You saw a couple of Antonio's animals grab the vision and start putting it together on the table, "No!" you yelled jumping under the table to grab the vision from them, but they got away with it and placed it on the table, "Mirabel and (y/n) found Bruno's vision, they're in it, they're gonna destroy the magic, and now we're all doomed!" Dolores blurted out. you and Mirabel tried grabbing it but ended up pushing it to slide to the end of the table where Alma was sitting. You were in trouble now.

Author's note: *Screech* I'm so behind- I'm running out of what to write- sorry for not updating yesterday- I was super tired and not feeling up to it, I also didn't get enough time to finish writing the chapter. And I'm still tired-  TvT (sorry for spelling and/or grammar errors!)
