It's been five months since Jeff and Hannah died. It's also been that long since Maddy has seen Justin. She's worried about him but continues to cover it up with anger. Jess and Alex are also coming back to school today and Bryce got a fucking girlfriend like what?
Maddy was walking with Zach when the duo spotted Jess and Alex a few paces in front of them. "Oh my god!" Maddy squealed throwing her arms around Jessica and almost knocking her off balance "Okay is it just me or did you get more gorgeous? Bitch your glowing" she winked.
Jess laughed, having missed her best friends antics "Me? Look at you. I've missed you Mads"
"I've missed you too, both of you" she responded sending a soft smile to both Jess and Alex, receiving the same back.
"I'll take that" Zach spoke up, grabbing a hold of Alex's bag and tugging it from his back.
"I can carry my own books" Alex sighed however it was clear he was struggling and Zach was having none of it.
"Well, clearly you can't so let me help and don't be a dick and welcome back" he replied.
"Thank you" Jess grinned.
Alex didn't respond and instead brought up a different subject "I mean to asked you guys about my note"
"What note?" Maddy and Zach both asked.
Alex begins pulling out a piece of paper from his pocket "My suicide note"
Maddy and Zach's eyes both widen in panic as they push the note away "Jesus put that away" Zach nervously stated.
"It's not a radioactive.." Alex said in confusion, looking between the two brunettes.
"No I-I know it's just.. we're not allowed to talk about suicide" Zach admitted.
"Or you or Hannah, or you get suspended" Maddy scoffed "It's fucking bullshit"
"That's so fucked up" Alex responded quietly.
"Oh shit.." Jess muttered gripping her bag tighter which caused our attention to go towards the jocks who were making their way down the hallway.
Maddy smiled when she made eye contact with Monty and she knew he'd want her over there with him, especially to get her away from Zach.
"Let's go. Who do you have first period? Mr Wood?" Zach rushed, grabbing Alex's arm gently to turn him the other way.
"Yeah I can't turn that fast" Alex gritted out meanwhile Jess looked confused.
"What are you running from Zach?" she asked.
"Nothing" he responded, not even looking in her direction.
"Hey! Jess, Alex, welcome back you guys" Bryce called out, wrapping his arm around Maddy's shoulder which caused her to tense up completely, something that everyone noticed.
"Hey baby" Monty spoke up, prying her from his friends grip and holding her close by the waist protectively. Scott smiled down at her when they made eye contact, they had become good friends as he was one of the nicer jocks.
"Hey" she replied, leaning up to give him a small peck that had two certain boys' insides burning with jealousy.
Maddy waved her three friends goodbye before she was pulled away by Monty who was teasingly kissing all over her face and neck erupting loud giggles from her.
"Seriously? 'Welcome back'?" Alex scoffed as their retreating figures made their way down the hallway.
"She's still with him?" Jess sadly questions to which Zach nodded.
