Chapter 1: The fight of a mother

Starting Point : Episode 3, Vader arrives on Mustafar

The Galaxy is upside-down. The jedi order has fallen. The Republic has fallen. Only a few Jedi are still alive, but they are being hunt down by the clones. On Mustafar, a new figure of the Dark Side had come to get rid of the separatist leaders, and finally put an end to the Clone Wars. Eventually, a ship landed on one of the platforms, and Darth Vader's wife, Senator Padme Amidala, rushed into the arms of her beloved. But it doesn't take long for her to realize that her husband is no longer the man she used to love. He proclaims that he has become more powerful than anyone in order to save Padme: more powerful than the jedis, more powerful than Palpatine himself, and that together, they can rule the galaxy and make it however they want it. Padme steps back, realizing how deep Anakin's mind is now corrupted. Obi-Wan comes out of the ship, and Anakin, boiling with rage, strangles Padme until she loses consciousness. Following that is the duel that opposed master and fallen apprentice. In a battle that would go down as one of the fiercest in history, Obi-Wan jumps back from a tiny platform to solid ground.

Obi-Wan: "It's over Anakin ! I have the high ground !"

Anakin: "You underestimate my power !"

Obi-Wan: "Don't try it !"

Anakin jumps and somehow manages to block in the air Obi-Wan's movement. Surprised by Vader, Obi-Wan takes a step back but he trips, and the Sith Lord has now the opportunity to deliver the finishing blow. There goes the legendary General Obi-Wan Kenobi, murdered by his "brother". Anakin takes a deep breath while staring at the dead body in front of him. There is rage in his look, but also what appears to be sadness. After a few seconds, he kicks Obi-Wan's corpse to send him in Mustafar's lava. He rushes back to find Padme, still unconscious.

Vader: "You're safe with me. I will never let death take you away from me. Not you, not again."

Thinking on how he lost his mother, he promised that such a fate would never happen with his wife. Silently, He goes back to Coruscant and brings Padme in a clinic so that she can give birth to not one, but two children: Luke and Leia. Padme's sadness is deep, she can't bear the thought of seeing Anakin's soul so dark. The medical droid comes to Vader to bring him an unexpected news.

Medical Droid: "Medically, she is completely healthy, but for a reason that we can't explain, we are losing her."

Vader: "What ? She's dying ? Why ?"

Droid: "We don't know why. She lost the will to live. We need to operate quickly if we are to save the babies."

Vader: "Hold on... babies ? there are more than one ?!"

Droid: "She's carrying twins."

Vader enters the medical birth, and Padme is crying loudly. Eventually, the droid presents her the first baby.

Padme: "Leia..."

A couple of seconds later, Luke comes out, and before the droid can bring him to his mother, the father intercepts him, taking Leia in his other hand.

Vader: "My children..."

Padme saw a vision that terrified her: Vader with her son and daughter. This very scene should have been one that would have given her joy, but now, she is afraid of the fate of the twins. In a whisper, not loud enough for Vader to hear, she makes a pledge.

Padme: -I can't die here... As long as I am alive, I will never let you corrupt them.-

Suddenly, the indicators that were showing that she was about to die now indicated that she was now recovering.

Droid: "My lord..."

Vader: "What ?"

Droid: "It's incomprehensible, but she appears to be saved."
