Guardian of hope (Ahsoka Luke Leia)

Chapter 3: Queen of Naboo

Ahsoka was asleep. She was dreaming about the time when Anakin saved her and Padme by finding a cure to the Blue-shadow virus, then when Anakin willingly opened a holocron for Cad Bane, because the Bounty hunter was threatening to kill her if he didn't. When Anakin resurrected her using the Daughter's life on Mortis, when he rushed into her arms when she came back alive from a trandoshans hunt, when they saved the Togruta population from the slave empire, when he burst in the senate with evidence that would save Ahsoka from the Senate's judgement. And finally, she remembered the disturbance in the Force when the clones turned against her, then the moment in the communication room when she blocked countless shots coming from Rex, Jesse and the others. She remembers burying all the dead... and then she sees her former Master, now turned into a merciless monster.

???: "Ahsoka!"

She wakes up with a start, brought back to reality by a child.

Ahsoka: "Luke..."

She turns her head, a young girl is on the other side.

Ahsoka: "Leia..."

Leia: "Did you have a bad dream ?"

Luke: "You were shaking the whole time."

Ahsoka: "No... it was not a dream. Those were memories. Sometimes... that's even worse than a nightmare."

She gets up and lift a bag.

Ahsoka: "We have to move. Let's go, get your hoods on."

Four years had passed since Padme's death. Together, they get out of the small tent they were in. She looks back on it one last time, and then leads the children somewhere else. Darth Vader is now the undisputed emperor of the Galaxy. There has been no war, but the Empire rules with a strong hand. Any misstep can conduct to a death penalty.

During the past four years, Ahsoka had gone through a lot. Vader has listed her Public Enemy number 1, the bounty on her head is at least 5 times higher than on anyone else in the galaxy, but the Empire wants her alive. She had to duel countless bounty hunters, who were usually using her weakness to get an edge in the battle: the twins. However, she managed to defeat them. All of them. The three of them are constantly on the move to avoid being caught, a useful knowledge that Ahsoka acquired with jedi younglings, at the time where they were hunt down for sport by trandoshans. Dorme's former ship had become the best way to go from one planet to the other.

She tried to settle on one planet far in the Outer rim territories, but even here, her face was not unknown. It was impossible for her to stay more than two weeks in a same location, and the closer they were from the core worlds, the shorter the time before being recognized.

One day, while they were going on another planet using what used to be Dorme's ship, Leia asked a question that Ahsoka was dreading.

Leia: "Tell me Ahsoka, why don't you let us call you Mom ?"

Ahsoka: "Well... maybe because I'm not your mother ?"

Luke: "But you take care of us, doesn't that count?"

Ahsoka: "No. There is only one person in the galaxy that has the right to proclaim this title, and that person is not me."

Luke: "Who is that person then ?"

Ahsoka hesitated, it has been four years now, surely she can take a little bit of risk.

Ahsoka: "Alright, I will show you."

The former jedi changed the destination and set course to a place she knows well: Theed, capital of Naboo. When she landed on the ground, she looked at the twins straight in the eyes.
