ah-lam's point of view:
I remember getting out of bed this morning. My hair was a mess, there was drool on my face, and there were lines on my arms.
I quickly ran to the bathroom and washed my face, then going back to my room to put on my uniform for school.
I grabbed an apple and headed off to school, hoping I wouldn't be late. I noticed joon-yeong on the way to school.
"hey! joon-yeong!" he turned to face me, a small smile on his face.
"ah-lam, you're late to school?" he teased.
"so are you - mr scientist," i said. "come on."
we both rushed to school - luckily we weren't late.
PRESENT TIME:
We were all in English class now. I sit beside my best friend, Ha-joon. We have been friends since the first grade and we are inseparable.
"Ah-lam, you were almost late." She said before sitting down beside me.
"Don't you mean you were almost late?" I laughed and she nudged me.
The whole class was noisy until Ms. Park came in. She was our English teacher for the whole year.
"Alright class, hand in your phones." She said while the whole class groaned.
I wasn't gonna pull and 'fake phone' tricks this time since my grades were a little low in English.
I went up with the rest of the class and put my phone in the bucket.
We all sat down and waited for the lesson to start.
"Has anyone heard from Hyeon-ju?" The teacher asked.
"Haven't seen her since yesterday." A student answered.
Ms. Park pulled out her phone and messaged the class group-chat we had, making a phone ding.
I looked at Ha-joon, the one who's phone dinged.
"Ah, Ha-joon! Put your real phone in the bucket." The class laughed.
about thirty minutes later
We were learning about..something? I wasn't too sure but I was copying down the notes anyway.
"Anyone wanna give us an answer?" Ms. Park asked, but no one answered.
"Class president.?" She asked. Nam-ra was the class president.
She was pretty quiet but I liked her.
"The truth is, all of us have some sort of prejudice. We all have preconceptions about other people." She answered.
Ms. Park looked over towards one of the students in the back, Su-hyeok.
"Bare-su?" She called him by his nickname. "Why Bare-su?" She asked.
"It's short for barefoot Su-hyeok, Bare-su." Joon-yeong answered.
"He also hates wearing socks." Dae-su answered. "I can smell if from here."
We all laughed before he went to answer.
"Bare-su?" The teacher asked again, waiting for the boy to answer.
"Ah.."
"Ah.." The class mimicked him.
"What she said... was correct!" He answered, the whole class laughed again.
"Okay.. what was correct about her answer?" She asked.
"Hmmm." He thought. "All right-"
He was luckily saved by Hyeon-ju walking in - except she was covered in blood.
"Hyeon-ju?! Is that blood?" Ms. Park went over to her since she fell down.
"Nam-ra, make sure everyone is working. I have to take her to the nurse." The teacher said.
"I'll carry her." Su-hyeok said.
"We'll help, come on." On-jo and I-sak helped carry the girl. "Ah-lam, come with us!" I nodded and went with them, sharing a look with Ha-joon.
We rushed down the hall while carrying Hyeon-ju. She kept trying to get out of Su-hyeok's grasp.
"Hyeon-ju what's wrong?" The teacher asked.
We eventually got to the nurse and held Hyeon-ju down. There was blood on her face and clothes and she wouldn't stop squirming.
"Please look at her!" Ms. Park told the nurse.
"Come here, come here." The nurse brought us over to one of the free beds.
We all laid her down on the bed and covered her up.
"I'm gonna sedate you - I need to give you a shot." The nurse went over to her table.
"The teacher.. he gave me a shot." Hyeon-ju said. "He did?" Ms. Park said.
"I'll take your temperature first." She held the device up to her head, her temperature was too low.
"I'm hot, I'm too hot." Hyeon-ju said.
A LITTLLE BIT LATER...
I was the first to walk back to the classroom. I slid open the door and went inside the classroom, everyone then rushed towards me.
"Is she okay?" One student asked.
"How did this happen?" Another one asked.
"Guys- give her some space. She's probably just confused as us." Joon-yeong said.
I had a small smile on my face.
"It's something from the science teacher. I don't know yet." I answered.
I went back to sit at my desk. Cheongsan then came to sit beside me.
"You okay?" He asked and I nodded. "Yeah, you?" He nodded as well.
"Is On-jo still in the infirmary?" He asked.
"I think so, but she'll be back soon." I answered and he nodded again.
