This was only supposed to be nine chapters.

The war had only just begun and Midoriya was tired. Very tired. Who's bright idea was it to make 120 or so people move into a city in just one day. His arms were burning from all that box-carrying. The heroes would be setting up today so maybe he could take it easy.

He looked around the small, badly lit room. It really could do with a plant or two. Sighing, he pulled off his thin sheets and opened his laptop to review the drone footage. It was only around 5:40 but the civilian bots had been released and some were already 'awake', acting like the cheap, melodramatic ai they are. Midoriya found some particularly good footage from two robots named Maria and Kaname.

What, did you think Hatsume made the drones just to spy on the hero team?

"But Maria, after everything we've been through together, are you really going to leave me? Just because of your aunt?"

"Kaname, my love, there's no other way."

"But there has to be. Do all the memories we've made together, all the time we've shared together not mean anything to you? Do you remember when we were younger, Maria, when we were sat under the swing set in that old park we went to every day before it got bulldozed, and you told me we'd always be together? That, no matter what, we'd always have each other? Or the times we'd sit on the orphanage roof, staring at the clouds until Miss Grippings would yell us to come down? Or even the first time it snowed enough for us to build a snow castle and throw snowballs at the younger kids? After all of that, Maria, are you really going to leave me?"

"I'm sorry, Kaname, I'm so sorry," the Maria bot began to sob, the screen that acted as her face changed to show tears.

"When's the flight?"

"What?"

"When's your flight to Sweden?"

"Wednesday, 4 am."

"But my sister has a surgery tomorrow...Will this really be the last time I see you?"

"I'm sorry Kaname."

"I know, Maria." The Kaname bot turned around and rolled away, leaving a distraught Maria alone outside the factory.

That's probably the best entertainment Midoriya would receive before Saturday.

There was 20 minutes before work for Midoriya started- plenty of time to buy a bagel. He wasn't even that hungry, he just fancied a bagel.

And as luck would have it, a business course student had scouted someone from the support course who was well known for being an amazing baker- and well known for saving a bit from everything they baked to test experimental chemicals on and accidentally leaving them in the fridge, but that was irrelevant. The two had opened a bakery only a few streets away from the dating consultancy, a place Midoriya would be frequenting.

He hadn't even finished paying (why on earth did this city have such a complicated currency) when he heard the faint sound of crackling and popping. Of course. He was being watched. Did the heroes really not realise they could be sued for that? Did Todoroki even make them study the law book?

Midoriya thanked the person behind the counter and made for the exit. He did not have time to deal with the heroes right now.

"Halt, villain!" he heard Iida's loud commanding voice as he stepped outside the shop and kept walking. Because, although he may look exactly like Midoriya Izuku with white hair and red eyes, he was in fact Akatani Yamada, a slightly obnoxious law student, studying at one of the city's top universities- a perfect, law abiding citizen. Still, Bakugo ran up behind him and grabbed his shoulder and he didn't even have to fake a flinch.
