Dinner was, surprisingly, rather pleasant. May always kept conversations going that didn't consist of bashing someone. Peter was also kept on a short leash. May had no trouble with turning the topic of the conversation when Peter started to make some sly comments. It kept things peaceful so she wouldn't be faced with the trading of insults or snide remarks.
But dinner had come to an end. Peter was clearing the table, starting to wash the dishes and sticking them into the dishwasher to run later. May still sat at the table, sipping away at the tea she'd been having during the meal which she hadn't fully finished.
Y/n was leaning against the doorframe that led to the front entrance. That happened to be the same direction of the stairs. They were directly to the left of the door.
May set her cup down on the table after taking a slow sip, "You should probably go ahead and shower. I'm sure Peter has some old clothes he can lend you, and if not you can come see me." She added something before she sent y/n off, "But they might not be the same size."
"Thank you," the girl gave a nod of appreciation before slipping out of the room.
She walked up the stairs silently, going into Peter's room when she'd reached his door. Making a straight line to his closet, she opened the doors. There were a bunch of shirts hung up, and a shelf was lined with some sweatpants and shorts.
Reaching for a shirt gray in color, she took it off its hanger. Her mouth dropped open and her nose scrunched up in disgust. She read the print of the shirt over and over again, cringing more with each time her eyes scanned across it. Never in her life did she think it would be possible for an article of clothing to have the ability to make her throw up. But now here she was, forcing her recent meal to stay down.
She flung the shirt over her shoulder and quickly grabbed for another one. Being met with the same corniness as the first one, she threw that one away as well. She continued to go through shirts until eventually all of them were out of the closet and discarded randomly around the room.
Her eyes were wide, twitching with insanity. Not only had she got through his entire closet, she'd gone through it and still managed to not find a singular normal shirt. They all had something cheesy on them.
That's right, every single one of Peter Parker's shirts had a stupid joke on them.
What she'd gathered was his particular favorite was science puns. Like "When organisms don't follow rules, they protist" or "Let's get PHYSICS-cal." Anything and everything a nerd would wear. Shit, half the jokes were so bad she wished she didn't even know the kid. More than usual that is.
A groan of frustration erupted from her lips as she snatched one of the shirts nearest to her off the floor. She held it up, reading the wording on it over and over again. "Don't go earth-quacking my heart." Not the worst thing she'd seen, but definitely not the best. It would have to do though.
She searched through his shorts and sweats, seeing as all of them were a size or two bigger than what she was. So, she just picked one at random. They weren't going to fit well regardless of the size.
Making her way to the door, she started to head down the hallway to the bathroom. But then she remembered that she needed one more thing. Which was also a pretty important article of clothing. There was no point in taking a shower if she was just going to end up throwing on the same old underwear. So she snuck off to May's room.
She was in and out within a second. Y/n had only taken the first piece she could grab from the drawer then rushed to the bathroom. Closing the door, she let out a sigh and placed her back up against it. She slowly sunk to the floor, hand reaching up and locking the handle for no one else to come in. It was already embarrassing enough that she was wearing their clothes, she didn't need to be barged in on as well.
