Your fingers delicately tied the soft silk fabric into a simple bow tie around your husband's neck, letting your hands linger a little longer as your mind drifted into thought.

"A penny for your thoughts?" Jaehyun's deep voice asked, softly. His hands came up to your sides to hold you as your eyes came up to gaze into his. He searched your face with a twinkle in his eyes and his lips slightly curving into a smile, revealing his dimples and shining teeth.

"I'm just worried." you admitted in a whisper, afraid that if you were to speak any louder, your fear might come true.

Jaehyun softly placed a hand on your left cheek, offering a reassuring smile. "I'll be right beside you. We'll leave if it becomes too much. Okay?" his positive out look on the sore situation made you feel a little better.

You were going to have dinner with your parents and a few of their friends. Ever since you could remember, your parents had made all of your decisions for you and always chose the toughest and richest path for you take. It stressed you out and made you unhappy. All they cared about was for your success to give them a good name. They never cared for you in the slightest. They even hated Jaehyun.

You met Jaehyun at a fundraiser for cancer three years ago. He was a musician that debuted with his group NCT back in 2016. He made you unconditionally happy with a wonderful life he promised you when he married you. Jaehyun was wealthy enough to give you a good sized home and buy you things that weren't necessary to have, but made you happy none the less.

Jaehyun had broken off the connection with you and your parents because it was tearing you apart and you couldn't do it yourself. Just to sum up how your parents felt about being cut off, they were very angry with Jaehyun. But they agreed to try to mend things after you ran into your dad at the store a few days ago when Jaehyun was away working.

"Let me do one glance over and then we can go." you told him, before breaking away from his hold and walking to the mirror. He appeared behind you as your eyes grazed over the dark blue sparkling, waist filling, floor length dress. The top was a silp off shoulder, long sleeve piece paired with a delicate diamond necklace that fell over your collar bones. The diamond dangling earrings matched the necklace that stood out against your beach waved hair.

"You look stunning, Darling," Jaehyun's deep voice spoke behind you. Your eyes met his in the mirror as you ran your hands over the dress.

"Okay." you sighed, turning from the mirror.

When you arrived at the restaurant, Jaehyun pulled up to the front and parked the car as a valet walked around the front to take the keys. Another valet opened the door for you and held out a hand for you to take. Graciously, you took his hand and stepped out of the car to greet Jaehyun who placed a hand on the small of your back, relaxing your nerves that spiked as the door was opened.

The stare that your parents had for the both of you was bland and terrifying to see, making it harder for you to approach them.

"You made it," your dad blurted, eyes burning holes into Jaehyun. Your dad knew that if it weren't for Jaehyun, you would be in their grasp in the blink of an eye. The same with your brother. His wife was concerned, so they cut off all connection and only every so often checked in with you.

Jaehyun nodded in greeting with a steady facial expression before he helped you into your chair, then took a seat next to you.

"Hi, I'm Claire Danes," a friendly woman who sat to your left greeted in a polite manner. Perking up, you greeted her back with a kind tone and then introduced yourself to her and her husband.

"This is Jaehyun," you introduced the couple to your one and only. "My husband."

"Jaehyun," Kyle Danes smiled holding out his hand in a friendly gesture. Jaehyun took it firmly. "It's an honor to finally meet you. I hear a lot about your success in the music industry."
