Hello again! I'm back with another update. I actually finished this a couple days ago, but I kind of liked weekend updates, so here ya go. You'll get a bit of someone's backstory in this chapter, so keep your eyes peeled. Anyways, on with the story!

"Now, let's get down to business. Who are you?"

Soobin's figure was rigid, his arms crossed in front of his chest as his eyes never left Taehyun. Taehyun could tell that, with one wrong move, he could be killed on the spot. He gulped down his saliva, knowing that he had to be at the top of his game to stay alive. After a deep breath, he looked at Soobin in the eyes.

"I'm a lone wolf. I had a pack a long time ago, but I've been on the run for years now. I was passing through last night when a couple wolves attacked me. I passed out from exhaustion and woke up to him trying to talk to me." Taehyun had pointed at Kai, the blonde man nodding slowly as Soobin glanced towards him for confirmation.

After a deep breath, Soobin took a couple steps forward, now directly in front of Taehyun. The younger had stopped breathing, afraid one false move would be the end of him. Soobin knelt down, now eye level with Taehyun. When his eyes turned red, Taehyun knew the alpha was trying to determine if the person in front of him was a threat. After a couple seconds, Soobin closed his eyes as he sighed, turning away from Taehyun and walking towards Yeonjun.

"I'm not sure if I can believe you, but the neighboring pack is known to be brutal. I wouldn't be surprised if they attacked you when you were just trying to pass through." Soobin stood next to Yeonjun as he massaged one of the man's shoulders. "And truthfully, if you wanted to hurt my pack, you already had the opportunity."

"Huh?" Taehyun looked obviously confused, not sure what Soobin was getting at.

"I love Kai, but sometimes, he leads with his heart more than he does with his brain." Kai whined slightly only causing Soobin to smile more towards the other omega before looking back at Taehyun. "You had every opportunity to hurt him on your journey to our home, and you didn't. I can't just ignore that. So, thank you."

Taehyun felt his body relax slightly, happy to not have Soobin trying to look directly through his façade. But he knew not to let his guard down. The last thing he needed was to be attacked once again in his current condition. Even though he wanted to stay to gain more information about the pack, he knew that would only make him look more suspicious. So, he slowly stood up, bowing towards Soobin and Yeonjun before turning and doing the same to Beomgyu and Kai.

"I want to thank you all for helping to treat my wounds, but I don't want to overstay my welcome. I should continue passing through." Taehyun started walking to the door, seeing Kai in the corner of his eye with eyes wide and a pout on his face.

"But ... but where are you going to go?" Kai almost looked like a kicked puppy, worrying about the boy he only met less than an hour ago.

"Honestly ..." Taehyun paused as he looked at the door. "... I don't know. I don't really have a pack to go to. So, I'll probably just keep moving around until I can find a place to lay low for a while."

Taehyun walked to the front door, placing his hand on the handle. Just as he was about to turn it and leave, Kai had run halfway towards Soobin. The movement caused Taehyun to look at him, the blonde now grabbing everyone's attention in the room.
