A/N

Hey everyone! I'm back with another update. This one will be a bit smaller than usual, but I've been busy with other stuff, so have mercy on me haha. I'm hoping the fluff will make up for it. Thanks for supporting this story, and I hope you enjoy it!

Los Angeles - The Midnight

-------------------------------

Taehyun was currently out hunting with Beomgyu and Soobin, the wolf having just killed another deer while the sun was still high. His light brown fur and tan underbelly were slightly sprinkled with blood, a sign that the kill was successful.

Soobin had already started making his way back, Beomgyu following Taehyun as they started walking back to the house as well. The deer was smaller, making it easier for Taehyun to drag. Beomgyu's light gray coat and white underbelly was also sprinkled with blood, although with his fur color, it was much more noticeable.

While Taehyun could say he was the one dragging the deer to take the burden off of Beomgyu, there was a small part of him that knew he didn't want to see the wolf's fur tainted any more than it already was. Just as they were about halfway to the pack house, Taehyun heard the sound of the brush moving nearby.

Taehyun immediately dropped the deer, his head quickly set upright as he looked towards the brush that had now stopped moving. Beomgyu wasn't far behind, his entire body on high alert. When the brush moved only a couple feet away from the original spot, Taehyun didn't hesitate to put himself between Beomgyu and the unknown being.

Taehyun quickly began to panic, wondering if his pack had gotten tired of waiting and decided to come after Beomgyu rather than an omega like originally planned. He could feel his body stiffening, ears moving attentively with each small sound.

Taehyun's mind quickly spiraled, his body too focused on noises to remember to breathe regularly. His muscles were tense, eyes quickly moving as the brush continued to sway and cause noise as something unknown was just beyond the shadows

"Tae."

Taehyun quickly looked back, not having noticed that Beomgyu had shifted back into his human form. After hearing the bushes move once again, he looked back at the area in question, unconsciously pushing his hindlegs against Beomgyu in a protective position.

"Taehyun. Look at me."

When Taehyun looked back, he could see that Beomgyu was scared. However, he knew Beomgyu wasn't scared about whatever was causing the noise in the bushes. It was obvious to him that the beta was focused on him.

Taehyun hadn't even realized that he shifted throughout the panic, but another noise and some movement caused him to stand abruptly and place his body directly in front of Beomgyu. His panic started to overtake him, his breathing becoming short and his eyes wide as every little movement or sound felt as if it would push him over the edge.

He wasn't prepared for when Beomgyu touched his shoulder, his hand placing a weight that Taehyun wasn't prepared for. When the delta quickly turned around, he didn't see Beomgyu in front of him, another memory appearing in front of him entirely.

The world became darker, as if storm clouds had rolled in. Beomgyu had been replaced with his pack alpha's back facing him. Her stance was always intimidating, Taehyun shaking slightly just by her presence. The pack alpha looks over her shoulders, her eyes a deep red that was similar to the blood that painted the ground.
