The sky was still filled with the nighttime darkness, the air crisp and cool, though the annoying ring of an alarm clock burst through the sleeping girls ears.

Reaching up and slamming her hand onto the button, the sound stopped. (Y/n) let out a sleepy groan as she rolled over and rubbed her eyes, slowly opening them and glancing at the clock.

5:50.

The girl slowly dragged herself out of the warm sheets and stumbled into the bathroom. Once finished getting ready, she made her way to the small closet and opened one of the drawers inside.

Pulling out her new uniform, she was quick to put on the white pants, tall boots, a black shirt and the light brown coat. Her eyes lingered on the stitched symbol, the wings of freedom. But soon continued on.

Her eyes locked onto the white pants fitted snugly around her lower half, only one thought ran through her mind:

Whoever designed this outfit, was definitely not a girl.

Swiftly tying her hair up, she made her way down the long hallway that soon lead to a three way split. One hall leading down to the boys rooms, another the cafeteria and exit.

Once in the dining hall, she quickly grabbed a bite to eat before checking the time, 6:30.

Figuring she was best to be early then late, she found her way to the storage room where Erwin had told her to meet up in.

Walking through the door, she was immediately hit with the smell of old leather and dust. Her footsteps echoed throughout the dusty room as she slowly walked in, glancing around the dark room.

Her hand trickled along the wall as she walked further into the room. The light from the hallway barely made a difference in the darkness, the sun just hardly peaking through. This room had no windows to provide any comfort from the gloomy shadows.

Bumping into a small cabinet, she squinted her eyes and ran her hand along the surface. Her fingers soon connected to a glass object and small box, the girl was quick to light a match and bring it to connect to the wick of the holder.

With the new source of light, the room became slightly more visible. (Y/n) slowly walked around the quiet room, it was a medium sized room filled with many lockers and expensive looking machines.

As she made her way around, the light from the doorway was cut off, she quickly spun around only to be meet with the harsh gaze of her captain. His steel eyes digging into her soft gaze, creating a stronger rhythm for her heart to play along to.

"Your early." His low voice called out.

"I was told not to be late." She replied softly, standing up a little straighter. Her eyes focused on the different features of his face, the dark circles under his eyes, his raven hair, his dark eyes.

"Where's your boyfriend?" He asked, pulling her attention back to the conversation.

Her eyes widened slightly, "Matthew? He's... he's not my boyfriend." (Y/n) protested.

"You should tell him that." Levi stated before looking at the small cabinet.

"What?" She asked quietly, slightly confused.

"Do you have the matches?" He asked, looking back up to her.

"Oh... Yeah, here." The girl said softly as she walked over to him and handed him the small box.

Taking the box from her hands, he quickly made his way around her and begun to light more candles, brightening up the dim room.

The girls eyes slowly followed his body around, looking at all his features and the way he moved. Soon enough he was finished up, "Well let's just get started without him then, he's late."

"Right." She whispered.

"Here's your locker, all of your gear is already inside. Do you know how to put it on?" Levi questioned as he opened the locker, revealing an assortment of gear.

"Roughly, I've only done it once." (Y/n) shrugged, stepping closer and pulling out a few leather straps.

"We'll go ahead and try to put it on, let me know if you need help." He replied shortly, walking back over to the small cabinet and pulling open a drawer.

The girl was quick to start piecing together the gear and straps, however got confused when one of the straps wasn't long enough to fit around her thigh.

"I uhh... I don't think this is long enough." She said shyly.

Levi turned around and eyed where her hand was holding the strap around her thigh. Closing the drawer behind him, he put a pen into the pocket of his coat and walked closer.

"Is it okay if I..." He trailed off, his eyes leaving her hand and connecting with hers. Once she gave him a small nod, he bent down onto one knee, taking the strap from her hand, "Can you move this leg?" He asked quietly without looking up and motioning to her other leg, she quickly moved it to stand in a wider stance.

He slowly reached his hand through her legs and found the other strap, his fingers grazing her ever so lightly with each movement, pulling both ends he attempted to pull the two ends together but they where no where near each other.

Glancing over to her other leg he noticed how the strap on that side hadn't been even added yet, "Hand me the other strap."

Reaching into her locker she pulled out another strap, which looked to be the one supposed to go on her leg and handed it to him.

He looked at it for a second before scoffing, "These are the extra ones for your arms just in case those break," he said motioning to her arms, "these..." Levi said softly while moving his arm around and behind her into her locker and pulling out another strap, "These are the ones for your legs." He sighed, handing her the strap and standing up.

"Oh, I thought those where extras or something... thanks." She spoke softly, slightly embarrassed.

His eyes watched her face, focusing on the different features she held. She had matured for sure, but she was still just as beautiful or if not more as she had been the first time he meet her. Levi had never felt such a strong emotion towards someone, but he knew it would be best if he didn't get attached to her. Though his eyes still lingered on her features, soon her eyes looked up to be meet with his. The pair stood gazing deep into each other for a few seconds before a voice spoke up behind them.

"I'm so sorry, I over slept!" Matthew said loudly as he ran into the room, pulling the two back into reality as they quickly stepped away from each other.

Levi was quick to look back over to the boy, his expression showing annoyance, "Don't let it happen again, brat. Get your gear on." He ordered, bumping his knuckle to another locker indicating it was his.

"You ready?" Levi spoke, looking back to the girl who gave a nod, "Good write your name on your locker." He handed her the pen from his pocket.

When he took it from him, she could feel the warmth still lingering from when it was pressed so closely to him. Turing around she quickly wrote her name onto the small name holder at the top of the locker, once she was finished she glanced over to Matthew who was fumbling with his equipment but close to being done.

Giving a tight smile, she handed the pen back to Levi who was quick to place it back into the cabinet, "Make sure you write yours down later to, but for now let's go." He said flatly as (Y/n) followed him out the door, Matthew following quickly still strapping together an arm piece.

As they walked down the hall, the metal of their gear clinked together and the leather straps stretched while their boots all echoed down the long wooden hall.

Soon making their way outside, they all walked towards the barn where (Y/n) could spot four people in uniform waiting for them.
