7 months later, July ish.
"Stop now and you'll have to do it all from the beginning, quit complaining and get it done I might just let you off the hook." The stern captain announced, pulling his horse up next to Cora.
The ginger lay helplessness on the ground, beads of sweat sliding down her skin and dropping onto the sandy floor.
"But it's so hard! I feel like I'm about to throw up!" The girl whined, her breath staggered and shallow.
Propping herself up onto her elbows she held her face over the sandy ground, imitating sounds of vomiting.
"The hell are you doing? Get up brat." Levi sneered, furrowing his eyebrows at her sad attempt to trick him.
Rolling her eyes, the girl pulled herself up, quickly swatting off the dust and rolled her eyes and started jogging again.
The heavy weights in her backpack rattled as she moved, the metal on her blade boxes clinking together with each stride.
The heavy heat weighed down upon the group, no air to move around the humid summer air, feelings of being chocked by the heat surrounded everyone. No birds flew around, their happy songs not to be heard, instead they hid in shade, searching out any drop of water they can find.
(Y/n) could feel the droplets of salty water rolling down her skin, tickling her in the worst ways possible. Strands of her hair clung to nearby skin, glued down by the sticky sweat she had built up.
The young girl carried a similar backpack to the rest of her squad, heavy weights and rocks weighing her down.
Sucking in the thick air in large quantities, her mouth hung open as her chest rapidly moved, trying to cool herself down but to no avail. She wore a long sleeve shirt, luckily she had found a summer weight one, though the fabric still stuck to her sticky skin.
Clenching her fists, she could feel the moisture between her fingers, pushing herself forward through the last strides. As soon as she crossed the end point, her hand immediately reached up to the clasp on her chest. The soft click of the clasp signaled the release, quickly sliding her arms from the heavy bag her body fell forward from the sudden center of gravity change.
Her eyes wearily trailed over, spotting a lonesome tree and dragging her feet towards it. Her arm swiped the sticky residue off her forehead, though giving her little comfort. As she neared the shade, she was halted in her tracks. Her breath still heavy and her eyes droopy, she looked up, the sun blinding her slightly. Though as she squinted, she spotted the outline of her captain on his horse.
The man looked at her for a second, before shifting his weight slightly, handing her a bottle of iced water.
A tiresome smile pulled at the edges of the girls lips, happily taking the water and gulping large quantities down her dry throat, the cool water coating her mouth.
Levi had moved on, handing out bottles to each person that passed the line, Cora still running weakly towards the group a few yards away.
Taking the last few steps, the girl collapsed in the shade, sighing as her legs gave out on her, the pain and stiffness aching in her body as she slouched over, drinking the rest of the water before happily sucking on the ice.
Time skip, a few hours later.
The young girls eyes trailed up to the blazing sun through the large glass window, scowling as the light burned her eyes. She sat loosely in the chair closest to the window, her body still aching from the earlier workout.
