7: reality

On our way to the airport, I got to talk a little bit more with Bene and Julien.

"What? No way! I can't believe you watched Demon Slayer and Death Note!" Bene said. I laugh, nodding my head. "Death Note, twice!"

Bene and I found out we share something in common; our love for anime. Honestly, if it's good, I'll watch it. Even if it's another language. Tim shook his head at our conversation. He hates anime.

"What exactly do you do?" Julien's question about my degree sparked the boys' curiosity as they all look at me. I shrug.

"It depends. I can design some clothes and make them, but I rather style people."

"Well, your style is pretty nice. I like your shirt," Julien said. "Thrift shops are the best." I tell him about that time I found a brand new Tommy Hilfiger sweatshirt for only nine dollars. "I mean, a guy could win my heart with a thrift shopping date."

We just got our boarding passes. Most of the guys are separated, but Bene and I we're the only two who got seated together. Jacob, Tim and Bene were talking in German. I don't know if it's just me, but it sounds like they're arguing.

"I'm glad you're with us." Luis suddenly said. I smile at him, "I am, too. Thanks for giving me a chance," I say. "What's this about?"

Luis turns towards the boys, "No clue."

"Flight 2R35- leaving Miami to Los Angeles is now boarding, please refer to your gate."

We all walk in a line trying to find our assigned seats. I'm keeping a close eye on Bene to know where our seats are, since he's walking in the lead. There was Bene, Tim, Jacob and I. I watch Tim take a window seat beside a woman and Bene sat down beside a man.

Wait, what? I thought we we're sitting buddies?

Jacob moved and motioned for me to take a seat. I'm so confused, but I take it. I smile, because he let me grab the window seat.

"I exchanged with Bene," he started. "I hope you don't mind."

"I don't mind."

I really don't mind. But, why? Why did he switch seats? We're they arguing about that earlier?
