35: reality

I couldn't sleep. Thunderstorms in Miami were quite common, but not in Los Angeles, and this one managed to keep me awake. Since Luis and Tim were not back from Hawaii, there was only Jacob and me on the second floor. I find an oversized shirt before making my way to his room.

"Jacob?" This is crazy, he's probably sleeping. However, a few seconds later, he answered. "Yeah?"

"I can't sleep," I whispered, entering his room. It was dark and I could barely see his face, but I know I saw a smile. "The thunder?" I nodded.

He rolled onto the other side of the bed and opened the covers. I crawl beside him. He wrapped his arms around me, pulling my body closer to his. Our legs entangled. Laying in his arms, cuddling wasn't weird, it felt somewhat right.

"Thank you," I whispered.

"You don't need to thank me. I like this," he said.

I turned around, so I could face him. His eyes slowly opened and smiled. I stared at him, trying to figure out if his eyes were hazel or green. I concluded they were hazel-green. He licks his lips. I do the same. I couldn't hear the rain anymore; all I heard was the sound of our heartbeats. I wanted to kiss him, but I decided not to. If he wanted to, he would—he did.

His lips covered mine and our tongues danced together. He slowly pulled away, "I wanted to do that for so long—". I shut him up with my lips.

It was my turn to pull away. He smiled and I smiled. He pecked my lips one more time before closing his eyes. I nuzzled up to him, my face on his chest and my arm on his waist.

"Good night, SJ."

I slept like a baby. Jacob's arms were holding me tightly to him. I smiled. I pecked his lips.

"Jacob?"

"Mhm?"

"We should get up," I whispered. "Mhm."

I style my hair into a messy bun and went to brush my teeth. When I came back to his room, Jacob was already downstairs. I find him in the kitchen with the rest of the group, including Tim, Luis, and Claudia.

"Tim! Luis! You're back!" I hugged each one of them and stopped at Claudia. "Hi, I'm Sarah-Jane. It is so nice to finally meet you," we both went in for a hug. "Same here!"

I grabbed some fruits from the fridge and started making my breakfast, while Tim, Claudia, and Luis talked about their trip. I slapped Bene's hand a couple of times because he kept reaching for my strawberries; he laughed.
Jacob walked up behind me, putting his arms around my waist, and kissed my shoulder. I only looked up when it went dead silent.

"When did this happen?" Tim suddenly asked with an unforgettable smirk plastered on his face.

Luis just looked at us with his mouth slightly opened, waiting for an answer. "We went on a couple of dates when you were gone. So, yeah."

"Ouhhh," Tim replied, while Luis kept quiet. What's wrong with him?
