Leni sat down at one of the pews after being transported back to the church. This would be a chance for a fresh start and maybe some well needed revenge against her "family". Oh, who was she kidding. She couldn't consider those who constantly riddled and mocked her to be family. If she did then she would just be what they always thought her to be: a naive teenager who's only good for making clothes. Like seriously, she needed some business skills to make that dream a reality...skills that seemed so far out of reach with those cursed smoothies. The fact that they used her favorite drink against her, almost made her want to stop drinking them all together.
"Leni? What are you doing here?" Leni turned her head to see Lincoln looking at her with a surprised look on his face.
"Your new mother brought me here." Leni answered which made Lincoln groan.
"Did she try one of her tricks to make you come with her. Cause if she did then...." Lincoln started to say before Leni stopped him.
"Not exactly. We just had a chat about the Louds and what they've been doing to me." Leni said.
"I'm scared to ask, but what did they do?" Lincoln asked.
"Sigh...Remember those smoothies that I've always been drinking. Well, they had some drugs included which made me dumb and naive." Leni said. She could see the anger on his face when she revealed what they have been doing to her. A look that she also felt when she realized the true extent of what they have been doing.
Though, her anger is nothing compared to his considering everything that he has been through. He was the black sheep and the one who always took the blame for things that weren't his fault at all. It was always unfair and made her feel disappointed in her so called parents and siblings. They hardly cared about his feelings or what happens to him yet would pretend to in order to get sympathy.
"I should've known that they did something like that." Lincoln said after a while.
"You shouldn't worry too much about it since Valak promised to help us punish them for their sins." Leni said.
"She did?" Lincoln asked.
"Yep. She told me that our ancestors are disappointed on them and ashamed that they bear the name, Loud. It was something that could be seen miles away yet our so called family were too arrogant and selfish to see the truth right in front of their eyes." Leni said.
"That does make sense. So you'll really help her with punishing them?" Lincoln asked.
"Yes. Listen Lincoln, the Louds were our family yet instead of treating us like we all deserved...they mocked, ridiculed and forced us to do our selected roles. Not to mention how they rope people into their games and treat others poorly." Leni said. At this statement, Lincoln started to think of his friend...Clyde. A boy who was in love with his elder sister yet she never gave him the time of day. Instead he was used for her own personal gain to help further her goals. The one time that he tried to move away from her, she reeled him back before treating him poorly again. How he hated how she used his best friend. They were going to pay for what they have done...no matter what he had to do to make it a reality.
Speaking of Clyde, he was in his room staring at the picture of Lincoln and Ronnie Anne. They have both disappeared and part of him wished that he could've joined them. Mainly cause he hated seeing his former love pretending to worry about her brother. He saw how they kicked him out without any concern yet no matter how difficult the climate...none of them bothered to let him back in. Despite that, he could see that some hated the fact that they were being repressed by the others. While, Leni continued to drink those smoothies which seemed innocent enough...though he couldn't help himself from feeling like something wasn't right.
That's why, he was packing to find out where his friends went himself. He wished that he could have faith in the police, but he has seen his long it takes some cases to make a breakthrough. So he is taking matters in his own hands and this time....
No stupid crush is going to stop him from finding his best friend.
