War on the Elements pt. 5

Chapter 5

Kai walked into the living room, she looked tired, her electric blue eyes lacked their usual spark. She wore her usual light blue sweatshirt with lose cargo pants and cargo boots, her dark brown hair was out of its usual side ponytail and went down a few inches past her shoulders. She went to the kitchen and grabbed two granola bars and as she walked past me she threw me a granola bar and sat beside me on the couch. We sat in silence and ate our granola bars. I realized that I was still in the same clothes as yesterday.

" Should we bring Alek with us?" Kai asked turning to look at me.

" I would think so," I said " I think that guy got a good look at all of us."

" We've got to call him" Kai picked up her phone, and called Alek. It was silent for a while. She tried again. After 10 minutes of Kai calling him and me texting him, we hadn't gotten through to him. " Alek! Finally, we got so worried. Meet us in front of the city council building, ok? Ok see ya there."

We walked to the city council building, talking like nothing happened. We saw Alek his mom was with him he was wearing a red fire ferrets tee-shirt, jeans and tennis shoes, he didn't look thrilled to be there. We walked into the building, it was huge on the inside. There where columns on ether side of us and there was a u shaped table about 25 feet ahead of us. We walked up to the table of council men and women.

" Well hello there," a nice looking woman in waterbender clothes said " why might you be here?"

" Well- " I said but a man in earthbender clothes interrupted me.

" This is a very important council meeting," he said in a extremely loud voice.

"Yeah how did you get in here?" Another man said " this is exactly why I proposed having more security around here."

" Yes but you proposed having multiple troops outside all the time" said the nice looking woman.

"And spies" said the firebender man. "Don't forget the spies patrolling the streets

" what were you going to tell us" said the woman.

" Well," I said and I told them about all that happened.

" wait I recognize you" the earthbender man said "you're-"

The firebender man slapped his hand on the man's mouth, then whispered something into his ear, the man nodded.

" we'll need to take you three," the nice woman said pointing at Kai Alek and myself "to the South Pole base, they won't look for you there, and if they do they won't make it past the coast. I hope that's ok with the parents."

" if it's safer than here," Alek's mom said looking at him protectively "then it's ok with me."

" you'll take the next plane to the South Pole." The earthbender said loudly.
