Jean is woken up by the usual knock on her door each morning. She yawns and gets out of bed.
"I'm up!" She yells and starts getting ready for the day. She puts on her clothes and ties her hair up, looking in the mirror. Jean gasps as she remembers that she has to go to Wolvendom for training today. She rushes out the door past Lisa and doesn't even say hello to Kaeya when she passes him. She runs out of the headquarters and down to the long flight of stairs. A few minutes later she is already at the front gate of Mondstadt and is running towards Springdale where she can take the path to Wolvendom. After running for about ten minutes she arrives at Springdale out of breath. She kneels at the pond and drinks some of the water.
"Oh my! Little girl! Why are you drinking pond water?" A voice behind Jean exclaims. Jean looks back and sees a middle aged woman.
"I am a Knight of Favonius trainee, and I'm late to training to Wolvendom so I really don't have time to find some good water." Jean explains to the woman who has developed a look as if she were pitying Jean.
"Oh dear, there's always time for good water, please, let me get you some." Jean was about to protest but the woman ran away from her. Jean sighed and decided that it couldn't hurt to catch her breath while she waited. A few moments later the woman came back with a small bucket full of cool, clean water. "Drink up." The woman told her. Jean took the bucket and drank almost the whole thing before saying,
"Thank you miss, that was very nice water. Now, I must get going to Wolvendom or Maste Varka will kill me." She said before running off towards the direction of Wolvendom. As Jean got closer and closer to Wolvendom the woods began to get darker and darker and she began to hear strange scuffling noises. "Who's there?" She would ask, but nobody answered. Jean pushed all of her fears behind her and kept running.
"Ha!"
"Ha!" Jean gasped and turned around to see four buff hilichurls waving their clubs in the air and running towards her. Jean remembered her training and pulled out her sword and held it in front of her. As all four of the hilichurls neared her they weaved around her sword so Jean jumped back and slashed her sword at the opponents killing all of them with just a few blows. Jean watched them fall back and turn into dust right in front of her.
"Wow. I did that. I just killed all those hilichurls by myself!" She exclaimed and jumped up in happiness. Suddenly she remembered her mission and put her serious, determined expression back on. "From now on, I'll be ready. Master Varka, you won't be disappointed in me." Jean kept running and eventually she reached Wolvendom, out of breath once more. "Master Varka! Are you out here?" She called out but no one answered her. She wandered around a bit and found a small hill where there was a rock with several shiny crystals on it, along with some iron. "Wow." She breathed and was about to go towards them until she felt something grab her shoulder. She screamed and broke free of the grasp only to see the Grand Master behind her, smiling. "Oh, Grand Master Varka! I was just looking for you!" Jean exclaimed and the Grand Master chuckled.
"I saw, so Jean, how was your journey to Wolvendom. You arrived quite late it is almost 12:00 o'clock." Master Varka remarked and glanced at Jean questioningly.
"Oh, right! Sorry Master Varka! I tried getting her sooner but I had to fight off some hilichurls on the way, but at least I defeated all of them!" She said proudly.
"You defeated some hilichurls?" Master Varka asked, "How many were there?" Jean sighed and remembered there weren't that many.
"Only four." She said. The Grand Master nodded and looked off into the distance.
"Do you know why I asked you to come here?" Jean shook her head. "Because I wanted for you to see how big the world was. You traveled from the city all the way to Wolvendom. But that wasn't even across half of Mondstadt. And Mondstadt is only one of the seven nations of the huge world of Teyvat." The Grand Master explained to her and Jean realized how big the world really was, and she now understood how small she was compared to it.
"Oh." Is all she could think to say.
"Jean." She looked up at him. "I believe your impact on this world will be so much bigger than you think. You, Jean, will be able to do anything you can put your mind to." Master Varka said before walking away towards the city. Jean followed him and thought about what he said. You will be able to do anything you can put your mind to.
A/N: Ok this is one of my favorite chapters and I think the story is going to start taking off from here so stay tuned.

Storie d'amoreJean Gunnhildr's story is not a story that should be forgotten easily. Whether it's the challenges of becoming a Favonius Knight, or a certain librarian, it took a lot of time and hard work for Jean to become who she is now. (NOT CANON BACKSTORY)
