part 5 : New Beginnings

Anuj: Anu, hum to khana khane jaa rahe the na

Anu: haan to wahi to aaye hai

Anuj: per ye to tumhara ghar hai

Anu: haan, kyuki aap ko khana sirf ghar ka, wo bhi mere haath ka pasand hai

Anuj smiles and thanks Kanhaji yet again for bringing Anu in his life. He has only seen till now, how Anu loves and takes care of her family; the extent she will go for their happiness, often at the cost of her own. Now, he has become a part of her life and he is receiving the same love, affection, and care from her. He makes a promise to himself, yet again, to treat her like a queen and give her all the happiness in this world which she deserves.

Anu: khane main kya banao

Anuj: hmm, patra

Anu: kali dal

Anuj: boondi raita

Anu: jeera rice

Anuj: ab bacha meetha

Anu: chocolate

Anuj: halwa

Last they both say at the same time, look at each other laugh and then say together 'Chocolate Halwa'

Kaun sa mod aaya
Zindagi ke safar mein
Bas gaya tu hi tu
Ab to meri nazar mein

Both together start preparation for the lunch. Anu starts preparing for patra and Anuj helps in making the dough for rotis. All this time, they both keep looking at each other, get caught, smile and then pretend to continue the task.

Anuj's phone rings, its GK on the other side; as his hands are in dough, he asks Anu to put it on speaker.

GK: Anuuuj, tu kaha hai, subah se bahar hai. bataya bhi nahi, kaha gaya hai

Anuj: are Mummy, itni chinta mat karo main bilkul thik hu

GK: achcha nahi karta chinta, ye bata lunch pe aayega ya nahi

Anuj: Mummy wo main A....

Before Anuj can say anything further Anu signals him to stop. He understood that Anu does not want him to tell anything to GK yet. All these years, Anuj has never hidden anything from GK but if Anu wants this, he has to honour her wish.

Anuj: Are mummy kuch kaam tha isliye site pe aaya hu. Lunch bhi yahi kuch kar lunga, tum zyada mat socho. Aur haan raat ko aane main late hoga, dinner pe wait mat karna.

On the other side, GK can sense something was fishy, he felt some background muff sounds. He feels Anuj was about to say Anu, he can make out from the tone, love, warmth in his voice when he utters her name, that A was for Anu only. He feels happy, if Anuj is with Anu, thats all that matters. He knows, if Anuj is not telling him, there must be some reason and when time is right Anuj will share with him.

Anuj: kya, hua tum ne mujhe GK ko batane se kyu roka.

Anu: wo Anuj, main nahi chahti ki hum, apne bare main abhi kisi ko kuch bataye

Saying this Anu gets conscious and looks anywhere but him. She turns her back to him and starts fidgeting with her pallu. Anuj, wipes his hands and ask Anu to look at him. When Anu still doesn't move, he holds her shoulder, makes her turn over and then with one hand lifts her face up.

Anuj: meri taraf dekho, Anu

Anu looks up at him

Anuj: Good, ab batao kya baat hai tumhare man main

Anu: Anuj, wo main chahti hu ki hum kuch din..

Anuj: Hum kuch din humare bare main kisi se na kahe, GK aur Bapuji se bhi nahi ...

He completes the line for her as Anuj can understand what Anu is thinking right now. He has an inkling about the reason as well but would like her to confirm.

Anu: Anuj, main aap se pyaar karti hu. Par agar humne kisi ko bataya to wo seedha shaadi ki baat karne lagenge

Anuj: hmm, aur tum abhi shaadi nahi karna chahti

Anu: main chahti hu, kuch din hum ek dusre ke saath bitaye, ek dusre ko samjhe. Pehle bhi maine sirf Mr Shah ko ek baar dekha tha aur jab dusri baar dekh to wo shaadi ke mandap pe tha. Mujhe aap pe pura bharosa hai, par abhi aisa bahut kuch hai jo hum ek dusre ke baare main nahi jante. Aur waise bhi, aaj kal ke bachche wo bolte hai na, shaadi se pehle ka waqt....

Anuj: Golden period hota hai, dating wala, jis main ladka ladki to impress karta hai, use gifts deta hai, wo dono chupke chupke milte hai, phone pe ghanto bate karte hai

Hearing all this Anu blushes, they look at each other and this time held the gaze for a very long time.

Dil ki har ek dhadkan
Tujhko pehchaanti hai
Meri chaahat hai ab kya
Tu nahin jaanti hai

Anuj: hmm, chalo hum waqt ko ulta karte hai. College ke time, main tumhe date nahi kar paya, to kya hua ab karunga. Aur hum ek promise karenge, roz chahe thoda hi sahi, par hum humare liye time nikalenge. Ek dusre ke saath quality time spend karenge without fail.

Anu looks in his eyes and wonders how lucky she is having him in her life. He understands her wishes, cherishes her, and supports her in every walk of life. He pulls her closer to him, Anu keeps her head on his chest. Anuj, gives a loving kiss on her forehead and then pulls her closer in a tight embrace so tight that there is no space for even air to pass between them. The time stands still there for both, they relish the happiness in each others embrace, which both were denied for 26 long years.
