Kiki laughed nervously as she avoided the detective's eyes.

"That... I- It's because I panicked, I think? I mean-", she took a deep breathe to organize things better in her head.

"First of all it's related to the fact we kind of know the future. I knew how the battle was going to happen. Although it went a bit different because, hum, Tenya Iida, you know the guy who's the Pro Hero's Engine little brother? Well he wasn't supposed to go out that fast but you probably already guessed that. Anyway."

She used a second to process her thoughts, and shook her head before retaking where she had left.

"So minor things changed. But the overall attack stayed the same.", Kiki exhaled out all the air in her body before inhaling and biting her lips in a forced smile," And I have this really annoying feeling, where if I think, 'hey I could do something', but then I don't, I'll feel guilty. I know I'll think after 'I could have done that'. Even if the action is foolish. Plus my phone was there. With my backpack."

"So,", she resumed or reexplained her answer feeling it wasn't very clear," I went there, just to y'know, divert his attention. And to recuperate my things."

"Wow", muttered her friend looking with a renewed old admiration.

Tsukauchi put down his pen, opened his mouth, blinked, and then spoke.

"You put yourself into danger, because you would feel guilty of not being able to protect a Hero from a villain ? "

Kiki never even thought of being proud about it, but right now she was feeling ashamed of herself, "I- I panicked. The situation felt surreal, and it was something I knew would happen and if I didn't do anything to change the course of events what would be the point of crossing into another world and"-

The policeman interrupted the kid saying that he was certainly not scolding her. But, the kids had to promise to never ever put themselves in a dangerous situation just like this one, alright?

Later on, discussing with Aizawa about that session of questioning, Tsukauchi would admit never having expected the children hesitating about agreeing.

"It's not that we don't want to obey.", quickly reassured, at least from his point of view, Mike," We would like too not to be in danger, but, hum, we kinda know ourselves too much that we will probably do it."

Kiki approved," We cannot promise it won't happen because we know that's a lie. We can try at most, and if we're lucky it won't happen."

Nezu accepted the conditions and made them swear to always look for an outcome where they'll be less harmed, and if in danger immediately ask for help a nearby Pro-Hero.

That, the kids could promise. Stay safe was also one of their priority, but stay safe letting other people be hurt was a big nO. They had willingly interfered with the timeline, and anyone died ahead of time oh boy they sure were going to blame themselves.

Third question was, "Why was a second person summoned."

"Ehh... Well...", damn they really asked the least answerable questions," Because we... didn't believe it was actually happening? And he wanted to be in here too?"
