Chapter 17

I went up to Rose's room and saw her waiting for me with the puzzle out and laid on the floor.
R: You ready to start Y/N?
Me: Almost. I heard something that I wanted to ask you. Is that ok?
R: Of course.
Me: I heard you're a massive fan of Adele. Is that true?
R: Yes!! I love her songs!! Especially her last album!!
Me: Well.... Then, I need to make a phone call to a very special friend of mine. Do you mind helping me?
R: Not at all.

I went over to Rose and sat next to her on the floor where she was waiting for me.

I hit the call button and gave Rose the phone.
Me: Do you mind holding it for a minute?
R: I don't mind.

After a couple of seconds, Adele answered and Rose just threw my phone to the ground, excitement and nervousness in her eyes.

I picked it up and saw Adele laughing her ass off.
Me: Hellooooo!!!
A: Hiyaaaaa. Hi Rose.
R: H-hi......
Me: Adele, this is your biggest fan. Do you mind talking to her for a while?
A: Not at all. Give the phone to her. I want to talk to my biggest fan.
Me: Ok. Here you go Rose.
R: Ohh Myy Goddddd!!! It's Adele!!!!!
A: Hey there flower. How old are you?
R: I'm 8!! I love you!! I love your songs!!
A: Well, I'm honored.
Me: Rose, I'm going to leave you to talk to Adele on your own and I'm heading to see your mom. Come downstairs and tell us about your call after your done, ok?
R: Ok!!! I love it!! Thank you Y/N!!
Me: Don't worry about it. Talk to you soon Adele.
A: We will. Now shoo. I want to talk to my biggest fan.

I went downstairs and saw Scar and Lizzie talking to each other on the couch.
I went over and sat on Lizzie's lap.

She wrapped her arms around my waist and kissed me softly.
L: Hi baby.
Me: Hi.
S: Where's my daughter?
Me: Oh, you'll find out in a minute. You just can't go up there right now. She's talking to someone.
S: Who?
Me: You'll see in a minute. I'm going to be one of her favorite people in no time.

Just then, we heard her door open and little footsteps running down the stairs.
She ran into the living room and starting jumping up and down the couch in excitement.
S: Woah there!! What's gotten you so happy and excited?!
R: Aunt Y/N's gift!!! I loved it!! Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!
Me: It's no problem sweetie. Did you enjoy it?
R: Yes!! She's amazing!!
S: Who's amazing?! What did you two do?!
R: I talked to Adele!!!!
L: Adele?!
R: Yes!! Aunt Y/N called her and she talked to me!!! She called me her biggest fan and said that she's going to send me some of her stuff!!!
S: That's amazing Rosie!! I know how much you love her!!
R: I do!! Aunt Y/N is the best!!
L: Hey!!
R: Sorry aunt Lizzie. You're my number 2 now!!
S: You've been replaced Lizzie.....
R: I'm going to bed. I'm tired. Thank you again aunt Y/N!!
Me: No problem sweetie. Have a good night's sleep.
R: I will. Good night.
L: Good night.
Me: Good night.
S: Come on Rosie. Let's get you to bed.

After they left the room, I turned to Lizzie and just smiled from ear to ear.
Me: She called me aunt Y/N!!
L: You're so cute.
Me: I'm glad she liked me. I didn't want Scar to worry any more than she already did.
L: Like you? Babe, she loves you!! I was her favorite aunt for 6 years now, until you came in and took my title. The kid loves you.
Me: I'm glad.

After a while, Scar came back with tears in her eyes and hugged me tightly.
Me: You ok there Scar?
S: I'm ok. I'm just so happy and relieved. She's normally not comfortable with adults but with you, she opened up immediately. Thank you Y/N......
Me: Awwwww...... You're going to make me cry too...... I didn't really do anything. I just thought of a way to make her happy. Lizzie told me that she loved puzzles and Adele, so I got her both.
S: Well, she absolutely loved it. Both gifts.
Me: I'm glad.
S: By the way, you said that you cut a deal with Adele to make this happen. What did you do?
Me: Nothing big. Basically we agreed that she would talk to Rose and send her some stuff that she has signed and I would go over to her place after we come back from Spain and sign some things for her son. Apparently, he's a big fan of mine and didn't believe his mom when she said she knew me.
