Two Ghosts

Chapter 29

Sharon is a totally different person when she works. She seems so sweet and nice and rainbows appear over her head when we are being casual, but at work she is this boss bitch that gets things done. That is not helping my plan. As I have heard at the CIA quarters, they found Bucky in Rumania, as I predicted, and then there was a persecusion on the streets, but they caught them. Yes, they arrested Bucky, Steve, Sam and, for some reason, the royal prince of Wakanda, T'Challa. I do not know why he was there, but for what I heard, I think he was after Bucky, too. Sharon tells me I can come along to meet them as they are brought to the place we are in. She also introduces me to her boss, Everett Ross. Smart guy, a little jumpy if you ask me, and he looks kind of harsh, but he was is nice to me when we met. We stand in the middle of the entrence where my friends will walk in and we wait patiently. Well, Sharon and I wait patiently, Ross seems annoyed.

After about ten minutes, a huge glass box slides in, with Bucky inside. I gasp when I see him, and my feet try to make me go towards him but I am stopped by a guard behind me. When he locks eyes with me, the concearn grows in his expression, so I ignore the guard and start walking. Other two men grab me by the arms to stop me, all I do is warn them with my eyes.

-This is close enough.
-You don't wanna play this game.-I laugh sarcastically. One of them scoffs like I just said the most absurd thing in history, so naturally I push him away from me. I push him so hard he lifts from the ground and crashes against the wall to my right, about twenty feet away from us.
-Hey!-Ross yells.-Easy there.
-He started it.-I shrug acting innocent.
-What's gonna happen to him?-Steve asks, but I make myself not listen to that answer. Instead, I turn around and look at Bucky, who is pretty calmed now.
-I better not look out the window and see anybody flying around in that.-Sam says, and I notice they are walking away, so I follow.
-I'm sorry, miss Williams, this is as far as I can allow you to come.-Ross says, standing in my way.
-What?-I look past him to Sharon, who is already gone. Bitch.-You have to let me come along...
-This is not your business anymore: you weren't involved in the pursuit or in the incident in Vienna, so now it is time for you to...
-I hid him.-I let it out. Steve and Sam turn around near the door when I say that, and all I do is come clean with Ross so he can arrest me, too. I place my sight in my man, who is as surprised as everyone else.-I hid him, all this time.
-Excuse me?-he frowns.
-He's been with me since Washington, the past two years I have kept him hidden from you.-my eyes meet Everett's, and my spine straightens.-It was all me.
-Congratulations, you have earned a free pass through that door.-he states with no playful tone in his voice.-After you.-I arch an eyebrow as two other guards place themselfs on both of my sides and push me to follow my friends.
-You did what?-Sam asks when I get to them.
-I'll explain later.-I whisper as Steve comes near us.
-You did what?-he roars, and I roll my eyes.
-I'll explain later.-I repeat watching Nat walking in our direction and joining us as we move towards our fate.
-You did what?!-she does not even bother in keeping her voice down.
-I'll explain later.-I growl.
-You'll be provided with an office instead of a cell.-Ross says.-Now, do me a favor, stay in it?
-I don't intend on going anywhere.-the royal one says. Personally, I do not get along very well with royalty, specially when they go after my boyfriend for no reason, so he has some points to earn. My boyfriend, that sound so wrong.
-For the record, this is what making it worse looks like.-Nat almost smiles, she is too mad at me to do that for now.
-Yeah, too bad Jade didn't join that conversation.-Steve spits.
-Real mature.-I shake my head and look away. There's water under us...
-He's alive.-he says, gaining my attention.-And you didn't tell me.-my heart shrinks and aches for the pain I might have caused my friend for what Bucky and I did.
-Steve, I'm...
-...going somewhere else.-Ross cuts me off.-Heinz, take her.-the biggeet guard present stands next to me and waits for me to go his way.
-Where are you taking her?-Steve speaks up.
-For questioning. She was directly involved in the Winter Soldier case, we need to know more.-he explains. I move my hand a little to let Steve know that it is okay and I follow the gorilla to wherever he is taking me.
