After getting ready, I went to the hospital by taxi. I found my mother helping my dad lay on the bed. He might have asked her to take him out for a walk.

"Molweni parents" (greetings) I greeted them as soon as I set the food on the table beside the bed. My brothers paid for a private room for my dad. They didn't want him to share it with anyone.

"I prepared your favorite meal dad" he smiled. He loves mashed potatoes with chicken soup, at times when people did not add it to the menu for a day he'd prepare it himself. He motioned me to sit in the bed. He looked at me briefly and took my hand in his.

"You are the most precious gift in my life, do you know that?" He says. My eyes are already tearing.

"I know pa... you've been telling me that ever since I was a little girl" I smiled.

"You're still my little girl"I hugged him so tight and suddenly started crying. I just had that had the feeling that I needed the hug so bad.

"It's okay baby...I'll be fine." I nodded.

"Your food is getting cold" I say while wiping my tears off my face. I got the food and started to feed him.

"Ledi, don't you think our daughter inherited your traits" my dad asked my mother who is seated on a couch while busy on her iPad.

"Of course... she reminds me a lot about my childhood sometimes I wonder if I'm re-living my life" they laughed. I joined them. They are really a great couple.

"But she's really stubborn... just like someone i won't mention" she teased looking at my dad.

"I'm not that stubborn haibo"

"Hmm... yes you're not" they looked at each other and stayed silent for a few seconds, then busted out laughing. This man just ate a few spoon then started joking with the wife. They talked about how I was always a troublesome kid in the house and an angel at school. It was really unbelievable. I finished feeding him after an hour because I had to stop at occasions were he's laughing.

"Ma do you want anything from the house?" I asked her when Im packing the plates.

"No sweetie... are you leaving already?"

"Yes. I still have some documents to upload for my scholarship" she looked at me with worried eyes. I know what she's thinking.

"Honey your father and I covered enough for your studies. And your brothers have a savings account for you. Why do you need the scholarship for?"

"Mom. I understand you but I just don't want the easy way out. I want to have something that I have worked hard for. I'm not refusing. I'll just use the money at times when I really need it" she sighed and kept quiet. I walked to my dad and gave him a peck on his cheek.

"You should listen to your mother. I don't want my kids to go through what I went through" I smiled weakly knowing the concern of both my parents. I don't want to worry them further so I just nodded.

"I'll be going home now... see you in the evening. I'm spending the night" I waved and headed out. My father's room is on the 5th floor so walked to the elevator. I got in the lift and pressed the ground floor button.

"Hold up" I heard a someone calling. I held and he walked in the lift.

"Thank you!" He said. It's a doctor. I could tell by the blue uniform he's wearing. He's tall and good looking. Dark in complexion and he's really attractive. We were the only ones in the lift.

"Are you a patient?" He asked

"No I came to visit one"

"Ouh. Are you in high school?" What? Can he even tell? People say I look older than my age what's up with this guy.
