INFATUATION (IV)

I was already in a taxi heading to my aunt's place from the airport. I wanted to pass by Natty's
house but I'll see her later. I got home and unlocked the gate my aunt already left for work. She's an accountant at Standard bank main branch here in Jozi. I walked in the house, everything was perfect as always. My aunt is a very neat woman and I try to keep up. She's a true definition of an independent woman. I went to my bedroom, cleaned up and unpacked some of the things I came with. Andile bought a new iPad for me, apparently for varsity. I texted John to inform him that I am around but he hasn't replied yet. Maybe he's busy or angry at me. But I know that he cannot get angry at me because he's understanding. I smiled at my perfect thoughts of him. I went to take a quick shower and finished. I got ready and headed to Natty's place. I knocked at the door when I got at Natty's place. I could here music playing from the inside. I opened the door and closed it behind me. I called her name twice but no response, she was probably having a shower. I walked to the couch and sat. I took the remote and switched the volume a little higher cos Dua lipa, levitating, was playing. After the music video finished I thought I had giggles so I lowered the volume a bit. I stood up and walked towards Natty's room just then I heard a man's voice.
"Natty I'm here!" I announced just to make sure it wasn't robbers on the other side.
"Oh we're coming now Thando" I walked back to the sitting room. I was curious to see Natty's guy so I sat and waited. Their voices were now getting louder as they walked towards the sitting room. The guy was hugging her from behind and kissing her neck. She giggled.
"Okay guys... I think I should get going. You guys clearly haven't gotten enough of each other" i said raising my hand on my face to block the make out session that was evolving infront of me.
"No friend... Luke was already leaving" she blushed looking at the man. "Sorry.Luke this is my best friend Thando. Thando this is my manz Luke" This time they were holding hands and I could now clearly see the guy as he stood next to Natty. He looked like he was in his late forty's. What was she doing with a man older than her? I asked myself.
"Hi nice to meet you Thando" he broke the awkward silent.He looked at me with flirtious eyes.
"Hi likewise " I faked smiled.
"Okay baby I gotta go now. I'll call you when I'm free." He kissed Natty on the lips she let out a small moan. I cleared my throat and went to take a seat.
"Lemme walk you out baby" she said and they disappeared outside. After few minutes she walked back in.
"A moan Natty. Seriously!" I teased
"Voetsek.. you'll do the same when John finally kisses you" I blushed at that thought.
"He eh... you're even blushing. You're whipped shem"
"Leave me alone Natty... at least my man is handsome compared to..." she threw a cushion at me and we both started laughing.
"By the way friend. That man is-"
"No Thando. I know what you're gonna say. I know what I'm doing so don't worry. Besides older men have experience in bed, they'll take you to cloud 9 when they fuck the hell out of you"
"Yoh my ears..." we laughed
"How's your dad?" She asked
"He's getting better. My dad's strong"
"And your brothers? I've just seen them in pictures , when are you going to introduce me to them?"
"Chomie my brothers are always busy."
"Busy man are hardworking. And hardworking men never disappoint" she winked
"Hai Natty. Weren't you the one with a guy minutes ago" I looked at her in disbelief "Beside my brothers are players"
"I'll handle them"
"There's no way I'm gonna allow you to go out with any of my brothers"
"Why are you being stingy friend?"
"Cos I don't wanna be stuck in between"
"You overthink too much" she rolled her eyes. I stood up and walked to the kitchen and made myself a cup of juice. I walked back to the living room.
"Can we talk about John?" She asked as I sat next to her.
"What about John? Did you see him with someone after I left?" I asked my heart starting to raise slowly.
"No relax... he seems to be a faithful person. But that's not my concern now"
"Then what is it?"
"Promise me you won't get mad"
"You're making me anxious Natt" I put the cup of juice on the table and I looked at Natty worriedly.
"Come on tell me"
"I don't mean to be judgmental but...Uhm... don't you think John is a little bit weird?"
"Weird? How? What are you trying to say?"
"What I mean is... eish friend don't give me that look"
"Are you going to tell me or not?" I asked with fury starting to grow in me.
"I said don't get mad. Okay here's the thing. Don't you think John is gay, I mean look at the way he acts, aren't you even suspicious about the fact that he never had any girl in his life and I heard stuffs from some guys in the street that he always check them out weirdly. And how he..."
"Just stop! I thought you knew John like I do. So you also believe in rumors now? If he was gay he wouldn't have approached me and he acts weirdly because he is a nerd."
"I'm sorry friend. It was just something I n my mind we don't need to fight over this"
"I was about to comment on your sugar daddy but you stopped me so I won't allow you to say things about John. He's perfect and I love him just the way he is"
"Really friend has it gotten to this? I said I'm sorry"
"I'm going home now" I stood up and left. How can she say that about John. He never had a girlfriend because he's a nerd and it's normal. Those guys in the street are just jealous cos they'll never be up to his standards. I was suddenly furious. I got home and found my aunt preparing dinner. I greeted her walked to my room. I was now thinking about John. Should I tell him what people think about him? I'll have to text him later, that's what I thought. Aunt called me for dinner and I joined her. After dinner we talked about my father's condition and that she'll be traveling to Pretoria in two days. I washed the dishes when she went to sleep. I finished and went back to my room. I took my phone and saw a lot of notifications, Natty was calling. I didn't feel like talking to her so I ignored. I was about to switch my phone off another notification popped in.
'Why didn't you tell me you're back?'- John
