"Thank you!" I kissed both Killian and Heron's cheeks before getting out of the car and waving at the boys goodbye.
I adjusted the tote bag on my arm as I entered the rusty gates of the old mansion that Papa left us.
The garden that used to be so colorful and full of life got replaced by unwanted shrubs.
The dry leaves crunched with each and every step that I take. I sighed and started to open the first three buttons of my uniform's blouse just so I could breathe.
Some of it bounced off from its glasses and danced gracefully on my freckled face.
There is just really something about the sun's heat that makes me at feel at ease. I love how it's warm and painful at the same time.
I know it's an odd fascination. But the feeling it emanates describes my life— the painful rays representing my past, present... and probably future. But even so, there's also this warm light, a small caress of hope that keeps me going.
Malapad akong napangiti.
The sound of mellow piano from upstairs ricocheted off the antique columns of the house before its first melodies faded into thin air as another rhythm follows.
I smiled upon seeing my Mother drinking herself into depths of her passion– music.
"How's school?" her voice almost as mellow as the piano.
"It's fine," tanging sagot ko.
She's accusing me of trying to seduce her boyfriend when it was clearly the other way round.
I turned him down though. He only wants to get in my pants, as what most of my guy friends tell me. Of course I know that.
And as usual, like some kind of routine, I ignore them all.
"How's it going with that eldest Cavallero?" Her face turned sullen.
