My plans to distract him on our way home all went down the drain when I suddenly have the urge to go the restroom.

"Gon, restroom lang ako."

I stood up. My feet is a bit wobbly but I know I can manage. Hindi rin naman masyadong mataas ang heels ko.

But Gon immediately held my waist, as if I am already in the verge of falling down the floor.

"Let me go with you."

"Go with me? Why? Are already okay in there?" Ininguso ko pa ang throw pillow na nakapatong sa hita niya.

Napatingala siya at napapikit ng mariin. I can clearly see his adam's apple bob up and down before he let go a soft cuss.

"It's okay. Wala naman yatang makakapansin."

"Wala? Gon, it'll be very noticeable. It's hu–"

Hindi ko na matapos pa ang sinasabi dahil nagsibalikan na ang iilan niyang mga kaibigan.

I bit my lip.

"Oh, Tequila? You about to go to the restroom? Sabay na tayo," offer ng isa sa mga kaibigan nilang babae na kaagad ko namang tinanguan.

I even waved a tiny 'bye' to Gon who is basically glued on the couch. I left out a soft laugh as he shook his head at me.

Nasa loob na ako ng isa sa mga cubicles nang narinig ko ang pagpasok ng iilan ding mga babae na tingin ko, kasali lang din sa grupo ng mga kaibigan ni Gon.

They are now starting to converse about something.

Akmang lalabas na ako sa cubicle nang medyo nahinuha ko na kung ano ang pinag-uusapan nila.

"I thought what you have between you two is already progressing? Bakit biglang may ipinakilalang girlfriend ngayon?"

"I don't know, Tam. To be fair, we already stopped talking a month ago. Akala ko lang busy siya sa work, I didn't know he already had a girlfriend."

It's Maxine's voice.

I stood still inside the cubicle. I have this feeling that I should just let them finish their conversation first before going out of here.

It is surely going to be awkward. Baka pa nga komprontahin ako. I don't have time for that when I'm too dizzy and I just want to go home at the moment.

"So, he kinda cheated on you?" tanong ng naunang boses.

Napakunot ang noo ko.

Gon, cheating on someone with me?

"Cheated? Gonsalvus doesn't do relationships. Kaya kung ano man ang meron kayo no'n, I'm sure it's nothing special, Maxine. Pretty ka naman, so just let it go."

Naghagikhikan sila dahil sa sinabi noong babaeng sumabat.

I stiffened. I am somehow feeling Maxine's awkwardness and hurt over this situation.

I sighed and leaned on the thin walls of the cubicle I'm in.

Whatever they're saying, it won't affect me. I know Gon. I know he's not the type to cheat or lie. His intentions are clear from the very beginning.

Kahit ano pa man ang idadagdag nila sa mga pinagsasabi, I will only trust the words that comes from Gon.

"I know, Arianne. Alam ko rin namang nakatali pa rin siya kay Celest. So, whatever his relationship is with that new girl, I'm sure it's going to end soon. Like how the things between us just ended," Maxine's voice sounds so down.
