1:00 PM

After getting Lovey ready, double-checking all the locks, and braving traffic, I finally pull up to Isaac's place, trying not to jolt Lovey, who had drifted off mid-drive, her small fingers curled tightly around my phone. Looking back, I couldn't help but smile; Lovey's cheeks were flushed, her lashes resting softly on her cheeks as she clutched the phone as if it were her most prized possession.

As I step out of the car, I craned my neck to take in the sight of Isaac's house, an imposing structure that feels more like an estate than a home. The building is a modern marvel, its architecture sleek and meticulously designed, echoing Isaac's exacting nature. Rows of massive windows reflect the afternoon light, casting a cool, almost aloof glow. The front lawn stretches out in manicured perfection, with carefully trimmed hedges lining a stone pathway leading to the wide oak front doors, intricately carved and painted in a deep slate blue.

It's intimidating and immaculate the kind of place you'd expect him to live in. For a moment, I wondered what it would be like to live in a place like this, but I shook off the thought as soon as it came.

Opening the car door not wanting to startle her, I leaned over and gently shook her awake with a hand on her shoulder. "Love," I whispered, giving her a soft shake. "We're here, honey."

Lovey's eyes fluttered open slowly, blinking in the soft afternoon light as she looked around, momentarily dazed. She glanced down at the phone in her hands, then up at me, her gaze sleepy.

"Did we make it to Iyic's house?" she mumbled, her voice thick with sleep.

"Mmhm" I hummed with a smile, reaching over to unbuckle Lovey from her car seat. "Come on, let's go see."

As I lifted Lovey from the car seat, she wrapped her arms around my neck, snuggling close as she rested her head on my shoulder, still half-asleep. I held her close as we headed toward the entrance.

I let Lovey ring the doorbell and as she pressed it eagerly. The chime was soft and melodic, echoing perfectly through the stillness outside. Lovey's eyes widened in wonder as she pulled her hand back, glancing at me with a delighted grin.

We waited a few moments, anticipation building as Lovey shifted excitedly in my arms. Finally, the door swung open to reveal Isaac, dressed down in casual clothing, a rare sight, it caught me by surprise.

"Hey, you're early," he says.

"Yeah, I've got a few things to handle before my flight," I explained.

Isaac's gaze softened as he looked at Lovey, his voice warm and gentle. "Hey, Lovey, I heard you were looking for me."

Lovey's eyes lit up, and she grinned, hiding her face in my shoulder for a moment before peeking back at him. "Yeah!" she chirped, her voice bright with excitement. "I wanted to stay with you and see where you live."

Isaac chuckled."Well, I'm glad you came to visit. What do you think so far?"

She peeked behind him to look around the grand entryway, eyes wide, then whispered, "It's really big. Do you get lost?"

Isaac laughed, shaking his head. "Not usually. But sometimes I forget where I left things." He lowered his voice, pretending to confide in her. "I'm still looking for one of my favourite socks."

Lovey giggled, eyes twinkling. "I can help you look!" she offered earnestly.

Isaac and I began to chuckle before he invited us in

Isaac Collins POV

When I open the door, I come face to face with Rowan and Lovey. She's a cute kid, one of the cutest I've seen. Maybe cuter than my brother's kids, though I'd never say that out loud.
