"I don't think so," I said, trying not to sound as nervous as I felt.
"Strange, I could've sworn I've seen you somewhere," Colleen said, backing up. "Well, it's very nice to meet you. My name is Colleen Collins." Suddenly, her expression changed from unimpressed and suspicious to warm and friendly, like a switch had flipped in her head. The stylish woman even gave me her hand to shake.
"Rowan Zolomen." I said nervously. Colleen smiled back, then turned to Isaac.
"Ibni (Son), your father has been looking for you." She said, before turning to converse with her other guests.
"Wow, your mom's kind of—"
"Strange?" Isaac finished for me.
"Yeah, exactly."
"Well, I need to go find my dad. Stay here or mingle—I'll find you soon." Isaac walked off, leaving me practically stranded. After wandering around for a while, a waiter with a tray of drinks passed by, I plucked a glass of a champion from his tray.
Maybe alcohol could help me loosen up a bit so I don't feel as out of place.
As I looked around, I noticed a small group huddled in a corner. Sarah was sitting with Talia, Benji, Noah, and two others I don't recognise.
After bumping into her at Lovey's school, Sarah and I exchanged phone numbers and have been texting non-stop—she's kind and funny and hates Issac almost as much as I do.
"Hey, Sarah!" I said with a small wave, getting her and some of the others' attention. With a little gasp, she practically jumped out of her seat just to come hug me.
"I didn't know you were coming to this thing," she said, brows stitched on her pretty face.
"I didn't either, Isaac gave me an invitation, so here I am."
"You came with Isaac? He's my brother." a girl with dyed blonde hair and a striking resemblance to Talia probed.
"Brother? Wait, how many siblings does that man have?" I muttered under my breath. The pretty girl stood up from her seat and walked over to the two of us.
"Don't worry, I'll make it easier on you. My name's Tori, and that girl right there is my younger twin sister, Talia, and our youngest brother, Gene," she said, gesturing to them both. "We also have an older brother, Matthew, but he's not here right."
"Well, nice to meet you," I said in Gene and Talia's direction before the three of us sat down.
"Where's Pineapples?" Benji asked me.
"I have no idea, he said he'd go find his dad before leaving me in a sea of people."
"You know Benji?" Gene asked. His eyes were a dark grey; his face was clean-shaven; and his hair was dark and curly. I could tell, even while he sat, that he was tall, but unlike his brother, he possessed a swimmer's physique. Lean and yet muscular. Studs pierced each of his ears, and his smile had a distinctly "fuckboy" quality.
"Yeah, Benji, Noah, and Nolan many just barge into Isaac's office whenever they want, so we got acquainted pretty quick."

At first I was pretty stiff, but suddenly after some conversation. The out-of-place feeling had dissipated. We all laughed and cracked jokes, while drinking glasses of champagne and filling up on those little appetisers the waiter would pass around with kind smiles.
"What are you guys talking about?" a familiar deep voice asked. I turned to see the ever elusive Isaac.
"Where have you been?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest with a smirk.
