Mirabel had a sad smile in her face as she watched the Madrigal family, her family... Take another picture without her, each one of the grandchildren showing off their gifts, shining brightly like stars.

As if time slowed down, Mirabel looked at each of her family's smiles, their closeness, and felt that she didn't really belong with them, she wasn't a missing puzzle from the photo but rather an irrelevant one.

Mirabel loves her family, nothing could change that, even their change of attitude after her failure of a ceremony, she still loves each and every of her family.
So that's why she can't stay, even the little things around the house and encanto she do might add to the burden she already is.
These thoughts appeared ever since Tio Bruno left because of her.

And ten years of delaying is enough, Mirabel can't be burden to the family anymore, she already have her clothes packed in her closet, some necessities she might need during her travels etc.

Hopefully Dolores is distracted enough with the party until she can get out of Encanto.

She took out her letters for the family and handed it to Casita, the lovable house making sad movements but Mirabel only gave a sad smile and leaned her head to the doorframe.

"I had to go Casita, I have troubled my familia far too long, please give these letters for me... I love this family, this town.... this, is the best way my giftless self could help them."

Mirabel looked at the mountains and determinedly took her step, maybe outside of Encanto, she'll start anew, find what she really is worth for, and maybe... Be happy for who she is.

Mirabel hummed, trying to distract herself from feeling weak and losing resolve, remembering her primo Antonio, she felt guilty for the white lies she said to calm him down she hopes the boy could forget about her, her mama and papa, hope that they wont be too disappointed at her, her Tio Bruno hope he find in himself to finally come out of his walls litteraly and metaphorically, her Tia Pepa and Tio Felix to finally find time to pay more attention to Antonio.

Isabella might be glad she wouldn't be in their way anymore and maybe realize she doesn't need to perfect, Luisa could use her disappearance to take a break, Camilo to know he's helpful even as himself, Dolores to voice out her feelings, and... Abuela.

...That she will not be too disappointed with her useless granddaughter, and to know she is pushing the family too far and relax as those days are past and she have a family supporting her.

As Mirabel crossed the river, the lamp in her hands and the shining moon gave her light for her path.
The path to start her journey away from the shadows and glory of  the Madrigal's.

.....

After the night passed...

Antonio wanted a sleepover with his favorite prima, but not seeing her after the party he assumed she was too tired and went to bed early.

It felt weird not being woke up by Mirabel in the morning, but Antonio thought it was because of his new room, so after readying himself with his animal friends he headed to the kitchen expecting Mirabel to be up and singing.

...

Dolores woke up, weirded that Mirabel didn't woke her up but she shrugged as she was up early anyway.
But after coming to the kitchen not seeing or hearing Mirabel cooking or preparing plates, her usual steps, singing, and talks with Casita worried Dolores.

It was too... Quiet.

She tries to brush it off and started cooking herself, although not as good as Tia Julieta's nor Mirabel's it was decent enough.
