Bruno fiddled with the hem of his green ruana, nervously eyeing the letter that sat innocently on his little table.

Of course he knew the current issue plaguing the family, they weren't exactly quiet.... He also witnessed the fight of his eldest sister and mother from the crevices of the wall....

His thoughts drifted back to his prophecy, the one that led him to hide from his family. He knew it, he knew despite his prophecy having two outcomes, it'll always be bad.

Good job Bruno! For always being the messenger of bad news! Why couldn't you give good prophecies? Like Camillo growing up as a fine man? Heck, even just someone's fish surviving is good news!

Bruno mocked himself as he opened the letter addressed to him, the patches he tried to mend on the walls seem to grow bigger.

Dear Tio Bruno,

I don't know if it's really you who lives in our walls , but I'm assuming because Casita probably won't let a stranger stay without us knowing.

Everyone seems to not want to talk about you, I don't know what you did but I'm sure it isn't your fault, knowing the people, you probably just told some bad news with future powers and blamed you for it.

I hope this letter finds you well, and our family to finally see the efforts you make for this house. You are family and I believe in you.

Goodbye Tio.

Your sobrina, Mirabel

Bruno read those lines again and again.

It isn't your fault.

He felt warmth from this sobrina who probably didn't have many memories of him yet believed in him.

Bruno crumpled the letter, his heart heavy. Mirabel's words struck a chord. She saw him differently. Not as the harbinger of doom, but as a part of their family. He thought of the times he had sat in the shadows, feeling the weight of every bad prophecy. Each prediction had pushed him further away from the family he loved.

..c..ra..ck...

...cr...ack....

He glanced around his hidden space. The cracks in the walls did not just represent his failures; they symbolized a chance for healing. What if he could change things? What if he could find a way to send good news back to Mirabel? He stood up, determination igniting within him. Tomorrow, he would try to reach out, not just to the family he missed but to the magic of Casita itself. He would find a way to mend not only the walls but also the bonds that had frayed over time.

.....

Mirabel hummed a tune as she steps down the stairs and to the diner below, there was a quiet chatter that filled the walls.

She greeted Maria who was manning the counter and bought her own food.

"Off to work Mirabel?" Catalina asked as she scooped more than the usual amount of the food on Mirabel's plate. It was worth it when she saw the bright sunny smile on the girl's face.

"Yep! I'm excited! Ah, thank you." Mirabel ate her food and as she was about to leave she saw Maria staring at her making her feel a bit concious, did she ate messy? She wiped at her face.
