4. Going to

The girl paused, looking at Mirabel for a minute, making Mirabel who was hopeful to be nervous.
"... Um, just asking, haha, you don't have the answer, anyways this taste really good."
Laughing awkwardly Mirabel took a sip from her food and averted her eyes.

"...We're not hiring."
The girl finally said, Mirabel smiled sheepishly and thanked the girl for answering who then continued her work.

Catalina who was checking rooms found her sister moving stiffly, Maria the girl Mirabel was talking (?) to before moved stiffly as she put dishes on the sink.

Raising an eyebrow, Catalina sneaked behind her sister and blow on her ear, but Maria only turned to her frowning.

"Ow, What happened? Did someone talk to you or something?" Rubbing her pinched cheek Catalina asked her sister, Maria paused, sighed, and nodded.

"Whew, we really gotta work on that Maria, we can't have you freezing up like salmon every time someone started talking to you-- ow! Why are you so violent?"

After washing her face and brushing her teeth, Mirabel changed into her pajamas and lay on her bed.

Usually, at times when she can't sleep, she would talk to casita who tries her best to respond, now looking at the simple room with only a few necessities... Mirabel couldn't help but miss Casita, and her family too.

'are they worried about me? Surely ma and pa will, but will others do? Mm, I can't help but feel selfish, are they missing me? Are they looking for me despite my letter?'

Mirabel slapped her cheeks before adjusting to a comfortable posture to sleep.

Morning just arrived but Mirabel was already up, she checked her bags and belongings before taking the money and Julieta's food and putting them in her shoulder bag.

She came down to the cafeteria (?) And bought herself the cheapest filling food, Mirabel noticed the one manning the counter was the yesterday, feeling awkward from the lack of response as she greeted Maria good morning.

Mirabel was about to leave to look around town when she heard a sound, maybe a squeak like Dolores's behind her.

Maria handed a pamphlet to Mirabel, "...if you're still looking for a job." She said almost a whisper and got back to her job, Mirabel opened the pamphlet and found out it was the town's recruiting businesses, feeling a warm emotion inside her, Mirabel smiled at Maria and bowed for a bit.

"Thank you."

"I just give you the listings of recruiting places, it's not guaranteed you will get accepted."

Maria waved her hand and Mirabel thanked her again while turning to leave, Catalina appeared from behind her to scare her sister but Catalina failed as Maria suddenly stood up from her seat, her head hitting Catalina's jaw.

Antonio sat in a space where he likes to go when he's nervous and his familia is too busy, his animal friends surrounding him.

"Did no one of you really see where Mira went?" He asked sadly once again as his animal friends shook their heads or said no.

Sighing, he hugged his animal friend, "Mira..." Tears starts to prick his eyes, and the animals surrounding him felt sad for their friend, they looked at each other and nodded.
