Lucas POV

I mimicked the steps of Ava walking  ahead of me, guiding the way as it was dark.

And all I did was recall my acts I did till today with a heavy heart. Enjoy, luxuries, bullying, playing girls, bets. It's all what I did.

I never realised what I was doing until I met this girl. Ava. Ava Anderson, who turned to be the one I began liking without my own acknowledgement.

And yes! I admit it. I admit that I like her.

I like the attitude she have, I like her ways of handling matters, I like when she ignores me, I like when she avoids me, I like when she talks to me, I like when she scolds me, I like whatever she does.

The magic she did on me in these past 5 months is insane. It drives me insane. Back then, I needed sluts to release stress, but now, I only need her talking to me. It itself works as the best stress reliever of all the time.

The luxuries I missed, I don't even recall them when she's beside me without those luxuries and I feel contented as we both end up with same equipments.

Everything seems good. Nothing ever felt this good in my whole life even when it was full of comfort and convenience.

Having her walking along with me in the dark night, having two meals in a day with her, sharing my time I used to spend on sluts, with her now just makes me the most happy person on this Earth.

But the only fear I feel is....
What if someday, she finds out who I'm in real?
Will she be the same as she's now?
Will she behave same as she's doing now?
Will she call me a friend as she calls now?

My thoughts cut off when she turned towards me, facing me. Her eyes illuminating in the light of stars, her lips curved in the cresent smile, strands of hairs over her cheeks falling off the grip of her messy bun..

Did I ever notice these details in any girl earlier??

I thought but the answer was a pure, loud No.

"What do you think?" She asked bringing me back to reality as I graze my gazes around totally oblivious of what she asked minutes ago.

"You weren't listening to me. Right?" She squinted her eyes glaring at me obviously catching each of my expression, reading my face.

"I....it's--" I look up at her to find her giggling, closing her eyes. Maybe, on the way I panicked.

"I was just kidding. You dumb." She shook her head which made me smile too.

We walked all the way gossiping about kids who just couldn't stop laughing when I fell down trying to copy the back flip Ava taught them.

It wasn't that hard but I did that purposely because why not? I love her attention on me. Just me.

Author POV

Lucas rushed towards the library to meet up with Ava as they had planned to study for the exams altogether.

In the way, he bumped in a few boys who just glared at him as Lucas ranted a list of sorrys not minding their glares and kept his fast steps towards library.

Well, now noone dared to even think of bullying Lucas because there was Ava to protect him. Back then, when they tried to slap Lucas as he pushed the jock unconsciously, Ava almost broke the bully's nose for touching Lucas.

That day, she announced Lucas as her friend in front of all, threatning them to face the consequences of touching Lucas. And that had Lucas dancing in middle of that serious situation because he couldn't belive that she let the whole campus know about their friendship.
