(A/N: incase there are readers who have forgotten or are not familiar with this scene in the game, they talk mostly through earpieces in the ballroom scene. I will do my best to differentiate who is talking! Much love, LoveGirl <3)

Sam and I took our places in the auction room. Nate looked at a map on his phone. "The electrical room should be through this door." He pulled on it. "Shit... of course, it's locked." Nate moved away from the door to look for another way around. Sam chimed in "Nate look..." A waiter walked into the room using a key fob. "Just gotta get a fob little brother. think you can handle that?" Nate laughed "I can handle a simple swipe, Sam" Sam shook his head "you gotta be careful, there are a lot of eyes in this room so-" Nate cut Sam off " I got it, relax"

Nate grabbed a drink to look less conspicuous. He mingled his way into the crowd where the waiter was. The fob was hanging out of his pocket. Nate tried to make the move, but the waiter turned just enough to make Nate swivel around to another direction. "Come on, Nate. You got it." I encouraged him the best I could. He made the pass once again and was able to swipe it. "got it" he said very relieved into the coms. "Geez took ya long enough." Sam chuckled to himself. Nate made his way over to the door and got in quickly. "Sam, I left the fob for you. It's on top of the door." Nate said as he made his way following his map. "Thanks Nate." Sam grabbed it and made his way over to me. "How ya doing gorgeous?" I smiled as he took my hand to give me a spin. "I'm good. Little nervous. It's been a while since I've done this." He smiles "you'll be fine. Just don't get hit by those little metal things." He said sarcastically refereeing to bullets, which I'm sure I'll see plenty of tonight. "Pro tip" I nodded playing along with his little game. I took a sip of the wine I had. "Whatcha got there?" Sam asked taking the glass from my hand and taking a sip. "pinot grigio". Sam looked at me thoughtfully. "hmm. you struck me for more of a red wine kinda girl." He handed it back. "actually, I'm more of a vodka kinda girl, but.." He laughed and shook his head. "'atta girl." I smiled and drake the rest leaving the empty glass on a table. A lady stood on stage and began to talk into the microphone, "Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the Rossi Estate auction. We will be starting the bidding for... " She trailed off. "Hope Nate is almost there." I signed holding onto Sam's arm. "Yeah... you know what they say in prison.. if you want something dirty done.. you wait till lights out" I laughed. "ayooo that's kinda provocative" Sam shook his head. "only if you want it to be" He smirked looking down at me meeting my gaze. I immediately blushed and shook my head. "how's it coming, kid" Sully chimed in on the coms. "Well.. I'm crawling through some vents. I need more time." He sighed. Sully replied "Kid.. Rafe is going to outbid me for this cross. Hurry up."

"Guess thats our que. good luck and be safe, sweetheart" Sam smiled at me. He pulled me in at the waist with his hand on my lower back. He kissed me. I melted in his arms as I felt my knees turn to jelly. Sam pulled away and winked at me. He walked over to the cellar room where Nate had gone off to and used the fob to get back in. I made my way to the upstairs room from which we came. I opened the door and no other than Nadine Ross herself stood in the doorway. "Well, what a pleasant surprise. My ex-business partner.  You should leave while you can, love." I laughed in her face. "Nadine, it was never personal. we were simply business partners. I'm sure you would have done the same." She shook her head. "Never personal? Really? Because using me to your own advantage isn't personal right? Using my resources and my company which I built from the ground up-" I interrupted "yeah with daddy's money cause you're a trust fund baby. Nadine, you act like you're so high and mighty. you didn't earn any of this. So why don't you take your pretty little ass back downstairs and have a drink on me" I shoved two bucks down the cleavage of her shirt. She shook her head. "Come on and fight me then." She kicked her heels off and put her fists up in front of her face. "Not fair, you have on pants. Just let me kick your ass later." She grabbed the bag I had hid in the back of the room with my spare clothes and threw it at me. "you're lucky I don't have time. I'm sure we'll cross paths again." She stormed out of the room. I exhaled frustrated that I was wasting time. I quickly slipped the dress off and threw my hoodie on with a pair of black denim jeans and my vans. I grabbed the gun I had stashed away and put the extra magazines in my back pocket. I lit a cigarette and climbed on the roof. I peeped my head over the top and found a good vantage point. I put my hood over my head to hide my red hair and jumped from one roof to the other. The gutter broke, but I quickly moved to the other side. "phew... that coulda been bad.." I found my vantage point which was toward the left side a little ways towards the front. I figured Sam or Nathan would come out around this area and we could meet up in the middle. "Kid, now would be an excellent time"  Sully said nervously in the coms. "Nathan, you gotta hurry, brother" Sam spoke also worried. "I'm ready on your go Nate." He finally replied. " On my go. Three... Two... One..." I could see the ballroom from here. The lights went out. Sam swiped the cross and him and Sully made a run for it to the wine cellar. Sam took of his waiter outfit and tucked the cross away safely. Him and Sully went separate ways as we fought to try to find Nate. "Nate just tell me where you are, and I've got your back. No one has begun shooting just yet, but I would hurry." I told him through the coms as I sat ready at m position. "just got on the roof. I see you."

Nate and I met up in the middle as and then eventually Sam found us at the front. We all made a run for it with bullets flying by our heads. We jumped in the getaway car. "Someone call for a limo" Sully said in our coms as he ran through the wall surrounding the side gates towards some back roads. The three of us made a B-line for the limo. Sam opened the door and pushed me in first. Then Sam and Nate hopped in "GO GO GO SULLY" Nate yelled shooting a guy as he closed the door. Sully stepped on the gas and headed for the road.

We ended up back at Sully's apartment with the cross on the table. We each poured a glass of whisky after the night we just had. "Holy shit... we sure know how to crash a black market auction, huh?" I laughed. Sully handed Sam a hammer as we sat around the table. "Hell yeah, we do, kid" Sully said sitting down sipping his drink. Sam grabbed the hammer "I hope I don't go to hell for this..." He slid the cross to the edge of the table and smashed it open. Sam looked inside the hallow cross as his face fell. "Shit.." He said looking inside. "What?!" Nate said with wide eyes. "It's empty." Sam said and huffed. "What?!" I said as my heart sank. Sam shook the cross and a rolled up paper fell out "Oh you're such an asshole!!" Nate said shaking his head. Sam laughed "Oh my God, your faces haha!" Sully took a sip of his drink and said "He's your brother".  I shook my head "Fuck you, Sam". He laughed and looked at the seal on the paper. It was red wax with Henry Avery's sigil. "Skull and crossbones all facing the right way. Good sign." He said opening the scroll. It had Latin lettering on hit " Hodie mecum eris in Paradiso" Sam read aloud. Nate translated "Today you will join me in Paradise." Sam chimied in "It's what Jesus said to Saint Dismas on the Cross, but... what about these numbers here.. what do you make of them?" Sam said pushing it towards me and Nate. "Come on boys, they're dates.. look" I covered the rest with my hand "1659..." Nate finished for me "The year Avery was born..." "yess.... and..." I covered the 1659. "Now 1699..." Sully said "The year he died..." "Right so we have Paradise.. birth year.. year of death..soo does that mean we're looking for a grave?" Sam asked Nate. "St. Dismas' Cathedral... God, I don't know what I didn't see this before.." Nate said standing out of his chair. He opened his notebook and grabbed a map. "Wait a minute... Rafe bought that whole cathedral. he's been tearing that thing apart.." Nate laid out the map "Right, but the layout of this place is sorta weird. So here's the cathedral" He pointed towars the top right of the map. "And here's the graveyard..." He pointed on the complete opposite side. Sam laughs. "Rafe's been focusing on the wrong area.." Nate nods "exactly." I smiled "Soooo we're going to Scotland!" I clinked glasses with Sam. "How is Elena cool with all of this" Sully asked. Nate and I got quiet. "Oh, Jesus, kid" Sully said shaking his head. Sully had been a big part of Nate and Elena's relationship. He practically saved their marriage, and it was all because of Nate's obsession with this treasure. "Look, she wouldn't understand..." Sully cut him off "You aren't giving her enough credit, Nate". Sam nodded "Nate, He's right.. I mean Rafe's involved.. wat if you get hurt.." Nate shook his head and took his phone out. "Thank you for the input on my marriage, both of you." He pushed his chair away and called Elena as he stepped onto the balcony. Sam and Sully had obvious tensions as soon as Nate stepped outside. I got up and went to the bathroom, but Sully's walls are thin so I heard every word. "You know, it took Nate a long time to get out of this life, Sam" Sam chuckled at Sully's remark "you see a gun to his head? No one is forcing him to do this.. He chose this... He was meant for this life." Sully sighed "Oh yeah? And Skylar too? What if she gets hurt. She's doing this out of loyalty. If she dies trying to save your ass, her blood is on your hands. Is that something you're willing to risk?" Nate walks back in "Yeah, I'll see you in a few more weeks, hon. okay...I will..I love you too..Bye" Nate says as he hangs up the phone. I re-enter the room sitting back at my seat between Nate and Sam. Sully looks expectantly at Nate "Just told her the job is going to take a little longer than expected.. which is the truth.. So.. what'd ya say, Sully?" Sully grabbed the glass and poured himself another drink. "Well... I do hear that the weather in Scotland is nice this time of year." Nate smiles and Sam pours another drink as well. "Sky?" Sam asks. I look at Nate Sully and then Nate. "Cmon Sky.. We cant lose the brains of this operation. We need you." Nate says smiling and raising his glass. The other two join in. I smile at Sam and raise my glass with them. "Next stop, Scotland, huh?" I say with a smile as we clink our glasses.
