Frisk was really glad Toriel let her stay over. Not only did she get to hang out with her cool goat mom, she got to see Chara! Sometimes Chara would come over to her house, but she seemed to hate Frisk's dad. Not just act indifferent like she did to Frisk, but actively hate him. But here, with Toriel, Chara was much more at ease. So when Frisk came out of her room to find the red eyed girl looking in the fridge, Frisk snuck up behind the fridge door and waited for Chara to close it.

"Hi!" she chirped, causing Chara to scream and nearly throwing her bottle of lemonade at her.

"FRISK!" Chara shouted, glaring at the other girl. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

"Nothing," Frisk said, even though she knew something was probably wrong with her. "I just wanted to say hi."

"Well, you could have not hid behind something and scared me," Chara growled. Frisk actually giggled at that, since she thought Chara's occasional animal-like sounds were cute, even if she was angry at her.

"I guess, but then you wouldn't be so talkative!" Frisk pointed out. Chara's eyes seemed to widen in shock as she only just realized that she was actually talking to Frisk. Frisk smiled, since Chara hadn't spoken to her like this since she was in the Underground.

"I- Oh. I guess I- Uh," Chara stuttered, averting eyes with Frisk. Frisk smiled, leaning in closer to Chara.

"Are you blushing?" Frisk asked, seeing the slight rosiness on Chara's already pink cheeks.

"No!" Chara snapped. She stepped back from Frisk and spun on her heel.

"Aw, come on Charry," Frisk said in a higher tone, "I know you can feel my love~."

"Shut. Shut it. Marshmallow," Chara said walking away. Frisk just nodded, fully understanding Chara. Sure, she wanted to try and flirt with her more and actually talk, since she had finally been doing that again. But if Chara wasn't down for that right now, that was fine. Maybe she'd be up for a flirting contest later today, or tomorrow. It didn't matter. Frisk knew that Chara felt something under that seemingly hostile exterior, and Frisk was going to pull it back out, since clearly she had been happier before.

"Hey Chara?" Frisk yelled out to Chara who was walking away.

"What?" Chara asked back, less harsh than she had been, but not looking back at Frisk.

"Marshmallow is a cute nickname. I wouldn't mind if you use more like that for me," she said lightly. Chara made a weird sound that Frisk couldn't pin to a certain emotion. But it was cute. Like Chara.
