It had been one week since Frisk saved the monsters from the Underground. She smiled, staring up at the sky from the balcony on the second floor. But the monsters weren't the only people she had saved. She had been sitting in the patch of golden flowers just under where she fell down, while Asriel sat nearby. Frisk heard the voice in her head get louder, until she realized- The girl must have been buried under the flowers. Sparing the semi-weird details of Frisk digging up a grave and holding a dead girl in her arms, and the really weird feeling of holding her own soul and using it to rejuvenate her, she brought Chara back. She had heard Chara's name before, she knew her story, and Chara had been with through the entirety of her journey. But now, Chara and Frisk were together on the surface. Frisk couldn't really read Chara, despite how much she knew about her and how well she could get information on how to flirt with people just by looking at them. Weirdly, Chara was a mystery. Even though they had been through a lot together, Chara would just stare at Frisk, almost unblinkingly, her red eyes piercing into Frisk's soul. But Frisk hoped, really hoped, that there were any positive feelings under that unflinching death stare. She thought about all of this while staring up at the blue sky, holding a cup of iced tea. She had learned from watching Chara that Chara also loved tea. But considering that they lived in the south, that made sense. Frisk had actually been able to glean a lot of information like this by watching Chara go about her day. Of course, she didn't hide in the shadows, like a stalker, but instead just did her own thing and Chara did hers. Frisk would often ask Chara what she was doing, or other mundane questions to start a conversation, but Chara rarely responding. When she did, it was a small, unintimidating grunt. Frisk had no idea why Chara acted like this to her- she had been fine talking and joking and guiding Frisk through her journey through the Underground- but when actually physically face to face, she just acted like Frisk was an annoying nobody. Frisk just sat, thinking about why Chara would act that way after all they had been through. She tapped her fingers in a rhythmic pattern on the arm of the chair she was sitting in, looking off and recounting all of the things Chara said, and if there was any reason she would act differently now.
