Chapter 18: Shroud of Darkness

Thunder roars over the planet as Kanan, Ezra, and Mako jump back, their sabers engaged as the Inquisitors, Brother and Sister stood before them. Kanan deflects Brother's saber, protecting his padawans.

Ezra fired at them as Mako twirls her saber, "I'm thinking this planet's not gonna work out as a base after all." Ezra calls out. "Really, what was your first guess?" Mako said rhetorically, then blocks Sister's saber and shoves her back.

Ezra joins her as they both fought off Sister, "Seeing that the key part of the secret is the secret location, no, it will not work out." Kanan snaps back. "Hey! If only the damn stalkers found a hobby, then maybe we could find that secret location!" Mako snaps right back.

Then shot her hand forward, throwing Sister away from Ezra, "Where's Chopper?" Kanan questions as he fought off Brother, "I signal him. He's either lost or ignoring us." Ezra calls out. "And knowing him, he's pulling our leg, you know, cause our suffering is entertainment for him." Mako points out, dodging Sister's saber.

"Oh, he's not lost. Cross!" Kanan calls out. Ezra ran for him and Kanan threw him with the force, Ezra strikes at Brother and then Ezra did the same with Kadan. Lunching him at Sister. "Mako, dive!" Kanan calls out again.

She ran for him, stepping onto his shoulder and he lunched her into the air, she engages her second saber as he reached out with the force and brought her slamming down onto Sister, almost knocking her to the ground.

Then she ran for Ezra, doing the same them and knocks Brother right to the ground. Kanan and Sister were locked in a stalemate. "Such a handsome face," she said to him with a wicked smile. "I don't go for crazy anymore," he tells her. Mako blocks Bother's saber as she shot a look over at Kanan. "Any more?" she questions, he rolls his eyes at her, "Not now, Mako," he tells her. "That's all right, I prefer brain," Sister said and her little droid crawls to her shoulder and jumps at him.

Kanan jumps back, deflecting her saber as the droid was attached to his head, "Mako, help Kanan." Ezra calls out, she nods at him, then twists, throwing her saber, slicing the droid in half. Sister growls as she deflects the saber away, but Mako shot her hand out and her saber came right back to her.

"Thanks, Mako!" Kanan calls out to her, she charges for sister and strikes her saber as Sister strains against Mako's sheer force. But Sister shoves her back, forcing her and Kanan right at the edge of the cliff. "Uh, Kanan. We're running out of room here," she calls out and blocks sister's saber, but Sister reflects her saber and kicks her, sending her flying back.

Mako hits the ground, sliding back as she stops next to Kanan, "You okay?" he asks, she nods at him. Then Ezra went flying right over them, "Kanan!" Ezra calls out, getting their attention. "EZRA!!" Mako calls out as he went over, but Kanan catches him but his ankle, "I got you! I got you!" he tells him.

Mako turns back, growling as she glares at the two, then flips back onto her feet and took her stance. "You must be joking." Sister laughs, but Mako disengages one saber and held just one. "There's two of us and only one of you," Brother tells her as he and Sister stood side by side.

Kanan strains as he looks back at her, as she was the only thing standing between them and the Inquisitors. "Mako!" he calls out, but she just pants, ignoring him.

Calm your breathing.

A voice calls out, making her pull away for a moment.

Reach through the force, feel nothing but the force.

Mako inhales deeply, closing her eyes as she went calm for a moment, focusing her breathing as she felt it... the force.
