"I still can't believe your Godfathers are in town."

The warm summer breeze tossed hazel curls over Alara's face, briefly obscuring her vision. She brushed them away, nose crinkling in distaste as the strands clung to her glossed lips.

"I can't either." She said, taking a long drag from her flavoured iced latte. "I haven't seen them in years, none of us knew they were coming."

Unfortunately, having out-of-town guests didn't qualify as a legitimate enough excuse to skip a day of "enriched learning", so Alara was forced to get up at the crack of dawn and head to school.

It wasn't fair being here when she was so eager to get home and spend more time with them. The only bright side was that she had a coffee in hand, and the lunch period was almost over. Which meant just two more classes to go and she would be home free.

"How do you get used to them being celebrities?"

The brunette looked to her best friend. Her lips were curled into a contemplative pout, tan skin glowing under the glaring afternoon sun. The freckles sprinkled across her skin were like little  constellations. It was staggering how beautiful Artanis Nadine was.

After an embarrassingly awkward first meeting during first year that they laughed about today, the two had become the best of friends. Artanis was one of the few people in the world who truly understood her and had never once complained about the limits her father enforced around there friendship.

     "Must be desensitized."

Her gaze flickered up to the male beside her. His lips were wrapped around a straw, drinking an iced sugary concoction similar to her own.

And then there was Soren Park, easily one of the most attractive boys she'd ever known (not that she knew many). If she had to think of a phrase to confine his hair like spilled ink, the rich tawny shade of his skin, and the sharp cut of his jaw, it would have to be "classic beauty".

     He was effortlessly, timelessly handsome.

Soren had joined the duo after transferring from Toronto to there small town in there second year. He had pointed to Alara's phone case displaying a photo of Bakugou Katsuki and complimented it.

They had been inseparable ever since.

If her father found out, he would go into cardiac arrest— only after beating her into tomorrow. But, Artanis and Soren were of the few people she cared for in the world.
